I spent a bit of time today cleaning up various files and pictures on my laptop. Moved a ton of stuff to my external hard drive. Tomorrow I've got to decide what I want to do with all the diary notes I've kept through the years. They're pretty BORING for the most part but I do need to scan through and see what needs to be deleted. Always interesting to read years later but unfortunately, I didn't always take the time to record carefully so half the time I have no clue who the poeple are I'm talking about.
I started to take a little recliner nap but my mind got to roaming around on what project I can work on tomorrow. I set up my old computer (the only one that will allow me to use my old scanner which takes better images). I wanted to get all my ancestry pictures scanned in but once I looked over my ancestry USB stick, I realized I had already done that. Now I'm thinking I might take the time to scan some of the old yearbooks I've got onhand. I gave some of the early 1950 ones to Kris Kvinsland as it had her folks in them but I still have quite a collection. Two from the 40s I think, and several 50s and 60s. Course trying to do all the pages would take me way too long but I may scan in quite a few and make a special folder for them on my Facebook page called Port Townsend School Kids. Or....maybe I'll put them on the Jefferson County Washington of Yesterday page. I haven't added any photos to either of those sites for quite a while.
I always need to have a project going. Otherwise I get bored and depressed. Have been thinking about writing a book too. Still mulling that idea around but if I can get a story going in my head, it will be fun. I really do like the process of writing a book. Just hate the having to market it afterwards.
I guess Sammy is coming to visit me tomorrow while Jen and Wayne go to Seattle to listen to a spiel about buying land. They'll get an airline trip out of the deal and they plan to go visit Hunter in Phoenix.
Dinner tonight is going to be BORING. I bought some fish a while back and it was a big package so I divided it up into smaller packages. Unfortunately, it's not that tasty. Some kind of white bland fish; not even sure what it is. I've tried baking and frying and spicing but it keeps turning out BORING. Refuse to throw it away, though, so I'll make do. Found an envelope in the pantry of rice and broccoli so I'll fix that up as a side dish.
Once I realized I was going to get to watch the Golden Globes this year (thanks to my subscription from Mary) I went online to see what all the nominees are about, how many stars they got, who's in them, and what I want to watch. As usual, I've seen few of the movies or the tv shows. I saw one of the foreign movies (Roma) and it was really good. I hope it wins. I also saw Dumplin' which is up for a song nomination. It was good too. On TV I've seen Ozark with Jason Bateman (good), Bodyguard with Richard Madden (good) and The Kominsky Method with Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin (really good!) I've also seen The Americans (good), Kidding with Jim Carrey (so so)and Patrick Melrose (so so) I started to watch Sandra Oh in Killing Eve and while I liked it at first, I decided it was too far fetched after a bit. I don't always give shows too much of my time so I suppose I could be missing out on good stuff because I'm too impatient. I didn't think The Homecoming with Julia Roberts was anything special. Same with Escape at Dannemora and The Handmaid's Tale.
I tuned in to some show on Showtime (a series starring Don Cheadle called House of Lies) and the first scene was him completely naked in bed with his girl friend. It was a colorful scene as he was a pretty brown and she was a pretty white but I don't have time for that nonsense. Any show that starts out with people "doing it" as the opening scene gets turned off. BORING! Although I must admit I did watch (and buy) all the seasons of The Sopranos. So I guess I'm selective.
Gees, how did it get so dark? Winter is BORING! Off to the kitchen I go to smell up my house. Maybe I'll take a quick look over the old pictures I was sorting today so I can add at least some to this post.
Maddie & Hunter at my mobile in Sequim. He's got Roundup and is killing weeds.
