Sure has been an interesting week weather wise. I hope I never have to sit through another one again. This is the first time I wasn't able to get outside and at least do SOMETHING in the snow. Last time it was here I wanted to make a snow angel but I couldn't get down on the ground and be assured I could get up again. Can't remember who was with me but she hesitated to get down as well. I did make an attempt when the stuff first appeared to go out and shovel the driveway a tiny bit. Much to my despair, the new boots I put on wouldn't come off again because of edema in my ankles and lower legs. I struggled for a good long time tugging on those boots. I'm going to have to give those boots away and order something else. And they're so cute too!
I am attempting to clean off the deck a little at a time but it's a struggle for me. I could just let it melt but somehow I got it in my head that I had to get that snow off to the ground. We'll see how that goes.
It's hard to do anything without boots but I do have these cleat things that you can put on sneakers and I may attempt to get them on in a bit just so see if it makes me feel steadier.
Stupid radio stations are fighting me this morning. I switched from this country station in Everett that insists on playing the same Alabama song day after day (seems like) and now it's become an irritant everytime I hear it. And I actually like Alabama a lot. Just not this song. Anyhow, I switch over to KIXI and what comes on? The other song that absolutely drives me bonkers! Cherish by The Association. Have hated that song for years. Does remind me of Linny Lou, though. She always laughed when it came on the radio at work and I immediately headed to the tuner knob to switch it off!
Anyhow, back to the weather.... I don't plan on going out in this stuff until the roads are pretty much slush only. I don't have any doctor appts until March and it calms me to know my son-in-law can get me to the store if need be. So far, I haven't had the need. I worried the whole week that the power would go out and I am so thankful that didn't happen. I managed to come down with what I thought was a head cold but quickly turned into a two-day flu session. I'm still coughing so the bronchitis will take a while to subside. Once I started talking out loud, I realized I have a touch of laryngitis too. Having a cold is one thing. You know that sooner or later it's gonna go away. What agitates me even more is that on top of this bug, I'm having a bout of bursitis in my hip. At least I guess that's what it is. I'm walking slowly with a cane and if I doesn't improve in four weeks I'll head to the doctor and request a cortisone shot. Poor ole body just doesn't cope the way it used to. My right thumb and wrist have been paining me for two or three weeks now and I'm thinking about looking for a wrist brace if it doesn't get better. But this is just the way things are now. You hurt here. You hurt there. Might as well learn to live with it.
Well, I did manage to get a load of laundry done today and that was about all I could manage with the hip flaring. Think I'll set up a jigsaw puzzle I got for Christmas and just take things easy. First, though, I'm going to put on those cleats and see if I can't get a little bit more of that snow off the porch. Here's some pictures Mary sent me on Facebook of their snow adventures.
