I've been turning the heat down to 60 at night because the motor on the heat vents in the living room are too loud when the house is quiet and they kept waking me up. I couldn't do that when it was snowing but I'm managing okay this past week. EXCEPT when I do get up, it's too dang cold! Temp gauge said it got down to 32 last night. I turned the heat back up at 5 a.m. and went to the recliner with my electric blanket throw to get a couple more hours of sleep in. I still have snow in the front and back yards but I noticed when Jen took me on my errands Tuesday that the west side (my neighborhood) seemed to have more snow than other places around town.
I forgot to bring in the hummingbird feeder but the one I didn't refill with new nectar was still hanging near the window and I guess it didn't freeze as a bird was there when I opened the blinds. I did go out and retrieve the feeder out in the open as I could see it was frozen. My deck looked way too dangerous to be walking on so I grabbed this neat carpet runner thingie that Jenni gave me a couple years back for Christmas. I never had used it as it sat in the garage forgotten. Was happy to have it this morning, though.
Saw a picture on the front page of the P.A. paper of Kai Tai Lagoon. Thought it was too pretty not to put on my "Swamp Road" blog.
My hip continues to plague me but at least I'm limping around the house without a cane. At least some of the time. I have a doctor appt next Monday and I'm hoping that she thinks a cortisone shot might help. I half suspect she'll put me on a water pill too as my ankle and calf edema continues to be a problem. Especially as the day wears on. I'm also curious as to what the rash on the back of my leg is. She thought it had to do with edema when I mentioned it three weeks ago but I half thought it might be psoriasis. Whatever the hell it is, it's making me feel unpretty. ha ha
I started a 1000-pc jigsaw puzzle I got for Christmas and it's taking up my entire kitchen table. I finally got to the point, however, where it's starting to be fun. I was close to putting it away as I could only find one piece every half hour and that's not my idea of a good time. It's a very colorful picture of a toy store. I'll post it once I'm done.
Saw this on a friend's FB page this morning and loved it so much, I decided to share it on my page.
Am looking forward to the Oscars on Sunday. Lady Gaga's "Shallow" is sure to win best song. I bought that CD a couple weeks back and can listen to that song over and over. Beautiful.
Just love the little popups that this laptop throws in my face while I'm online. One just came on telling me 4 things that can happen to indicate you're getting ready to have a heart attack. Oh joy! Just what I want to read about. A friend of mine died yesterday. Not a close friend but a friend still. Known her since high school days and we'd run into each other every now and again at alumni and other places. She was waiting tables at the casino for a time. Told me then (I think it was then) that she had heart issues. She graduated about four years behind me. Kathy King.
Not much on my agenda this week. Have to pay attention when the body says go sit down. My next social outing will be the mill retirement luncheon in Port Townsend on March 18th. Always enjoy going to that as I know most of the people there.
Have found that this winter was kind of hard on me. First time I wished I could go to a warmer climate. Saw this on Facebook and decided it described how I feel a lot of the time lately.
