That Dang ole Gall Bladder!

I had no idea I had gall stones. Hadn't really had an "attack" but after having an ultrasound for other issues, stones were found and doctor said I needed to get the operation done BEFORE I had an attack. Jen drove me to the hospital at 6 a.m. and an hour later, I was being wheeled in. I think I was more nervous going in for a colonoscopy than I was a g.b. operation. Which is silly because you're asleep through both and at least with a colonscopy there's no pain afterwards. Just the knowledge that some people had you up in the air and were sticking a hose down your butt!  Not something I choose to think about. Ha!

Apparently, it took me a while to come out of the anesthesia again. Same thing happened with my shoulder only it was a lot longer then.  I still remember the awful pain waking up with three nurses yelling my name and telling me to open my eyes and not go to sleep.  Had a terrible headache and horrible dry mouth. Was so thankful to get those ice chips. I think it was around 10 am and they let Jenni wheel me out at 1 or 1:30.  I could be off on the time but who really cares.  Had to laugh at the thing Jenni wrote on the white board in my room. She needed to leave her name and number, which she did but also wrote: "favorite daughter" after her name. She took me to her house and I stayed in bed for the next two days.Miserable but only if I needed to get up and walk down the hall to the bathroom to pee. And for whatever reason, I was peeing every single solitary hour! Damn inconvenience not to mention how hard getting out of bed was.

Was interesting looking over my 18-year-old grandson's room, though.  All across the top of the wall going around two walls were unopened hot wheel cars. He also had a string of Christmas lights hung around his curtain that were shaped like cars. I kept them on the whole time as they were a nice night light. He also had empty bottles on his window sill and various car and truck tin signs on the walls.

By Thursday morning I needed to go home to my own bedroom. It's hard getting used to the sounds of other folks' house. Jenni drove me home at 8 or so and I was thankful we only lived a mile apart.
This morning she dropped off a few groceries I needed and I spent the day pretty much glued to my recliner as I napped and watched prime tv.  Scale was down 4 pounds and that was one of the pluses. I couldn't activate my appetite at all for the first two days. Too bad it didn't last longer.
Here's a surprise that arrived in the mail from Andy and Mary.  Bulbs growing in a pot. My get well flowers that were much appreciated.  Apparently, my ex is in the PT hospital right now with kidney stones.  Ugh!  I've never had those and I hear they are dreadful!

Below are some pictures I took on Monday when I went in for the mill retirement luncheon at Roadhouse 20.  The people pictures at that luncheon are on my Facebook page; these were ones I took around town.
class of '61 on the high school sidewalk with our time capsule enclosed.
the demolition of the high school front door and porch
                                               annoying as hell!
the view from the h.s. parking lot
mountain view down on Water Street
Salish School (formerly Grant St School)
a new park next to the Lighthouse restaurant which is gone now
                                   another view of Salish School
                                    sidewalk view on Water Street
the high school gym building

                                 another street view downtown
work going on in the building next to the old JC Penney's store

I was surprised (but not) at all the deer I encountered all over town. Especially up near the school grounds. They pretty much have the run of the town.

Mary and Andy and Jake flew to AZ to visit Hunter and take him on a surprise shopping trip to Costco. They had a nice hotel room with a pool and took advantage of hiking parks.

Mary said Jake was enthralled with this rock wall and couldn't get over how much fun it was

This was taken at Grey Wolf water park a few days before they went to AZ.  Jake was given "tickets" to exchange for "toys."  He spent them all on ten army men.  ha ha
This is Hunter in his apartment in Avondale. He was selected to go to the diesel repair school for the next level of his education. You have to be asked to interview to even get in. So proud of him.
This was a view in his kitchen which Mary thought was funny.

And that's about all for now. I'm am really tired after sitting at the computer for an hour. Back to my recliner.
