Man, I knew I was way behind blogging but then again, I can't think of all that much of interest to write about. I'm continuing most days to try and keep myself busy with one hobby or another as I await that phone call to tell me I'm finally at the top of the list to get an apartment. I'm going to head over there around Thanksgiving to see if I've moved up on the list at all. Might ask how much more two bedrooms are while I'm at it as I continue to doubt I'll have enough room. I probably will but it's hard to judge. I'm so thankful I'll be able to store things at Jenni's.
I went over to visit a friend yesterday who recently moved into a two-bedroom apartment here in P.A. She used to live in Sequim and Port Townsend. (sister-in-law of Mary Gaboury) She's on the ground floor kind of in the middle of town, not too far from Safeway. She said she was lucky to find the place as rentals are difficult to come by and most places in other towns are way out of her price range. Mine too!
I pulled out my genealogy paperwork again this afternoon to try (again!) to make some headway on relatives I can't find. I've about given up on Charlie 'cause I just don't know how else to locate him seeing as how I don't know for sure what his name was or if my g. grandmother even gave birth to him. Today I'm going back to work on Jane M. Downs who married Lewis M. Blankenship, my grandpa Gene's dad. I know of her whereabouts after she married but am having a harder time locating who she was with in Delaware as a child.
I've had a heck of a time dealing with tinnitis the past couple of weeks. I get bothered with it now and again and usually, it's not that big a deal as it clears up again. (ringing in ears) But this time for whatever reason, I've got some dizziness going on with it. Not bad to the point where it's vertigo but bad enough to be annoying and a little unnerving. Have been to three P.A.s for it since the middle of August with no help from any of them. Will try again on Sept. 30th but I don't have any expectations of getting answers. When you're old, they blame everything on age.
I continue to putter around in the sewing room with one project or another. I don't have a ton of material left but I certainly have enough to keep me occupied. I'm working on a baby quilt now. At least I suppose it will end up being a baby quilt. Who knows. I'm appliqueing various designs as shown below. It's kind of fun.
I forced myself out of the house this morning to go get a haircut. My hair always looks like hell but when I'm in need of a trim, I look extra bad. Thank God for wigs!
I work on cross stitch at night while watching tv. Most nights I have a heck of time finding anything of interest but I keep at it. Last night I watched a movie with Emma Thompson called Late Night. It was okay but nothing to write home about. I also watched (for the second time) a standup comedy show with Jim Gaffigan. Love him. One of the few who makes me laugh out loud. Last night's topics included medical stuff, doctors, hospitals, colonoscopies, among others. Called Noble Ape.
Went to the casino with friends last Monday. Picture below.....
Mary Gaboury, Joyce Lee, Joanne Gilles, Mary Norton, and me. Joyce won some money but I don't think the rest of us did much.
Went to the hospital cafeteria with John O'Brien a few days later and then we went to the beach so I could get some rocks for painting later.
I drove around downtown a few days later as I wanted to get some shots of the buildings they plan to tear down to make way for a new hotel.
My new fun groups to be in on Facebook are Historic Olympic Peninsula (always loved old photos) and a couple of scanner groups to keep me in the know about what's going on in PT and PA. Us Gladys Kravitz types need that!
And last but not least --- Jake is in kindergarten and soccer.
