Tuesday Morning

Decided to go out and about driving this morning before the rains started in again. Posted some ship photos taken downtown on Facebook and here's a couple I took of the library and a nearby creek.

Stopped at Joanne's Fabric to pick up a yard of plain material for the crumb quilt I'm working on a little every day.  Uses up scrap pieces from old projects and I do like using up as much of the material as I can.  I've got 20 6" squares done but need 32 so I bought some material to alternate with the colorful squares so it doesn't look quite so busy.

While watching tv at night, I'm working on this complicated cross stitch pattern that I'm having to do one square at a time as it's too easy to lose your place. It's a heart design and will make a neat lid cover if I can find the right box.  If not, I might try to work it into a wall hanging.  Couldn't find much of interest last night on the boob tube so I turned it off and read.  Picked up this biography on Jerry Lee Lewis when I was at the library. I had checked it out before and they shipped it down from the Forks library but I never got to it and it wasn't renewable.  So far, I'm enjoying it a lot. Am also reading a mystery by Gregg Olsen. He's got a ton of books with Pacific NW themes and I got hooked on this novel right away.

Was reading scary stuff on Facebook last night about the snow storms headed our way. I hope not. I did call Jenni to get my snow shovel back just in case. Also have to hunt around and see if I can find those galoshes I invested in last winter. Not sure where I put them as I was confident I wouldn't be here when I first started downsizing.  Ha Ha on me.  They're probably tucked away in a bin somewhere. Can't imagine I would have put them in the yard sale as they were brand new.

Picked up this little book at the library gift shop for a dollar. The title got my eye right away. Called "All my friends are dead".  Not funny but yet the book deals with the subject in a good way. Here's some of the pages.

Kind of reminds me of this book Fred Gwynne wrote years ago. He was Herman Munster on tv and always was in My Cousin Vinny, Cat Sematary, and The Cotton Club.

Well, that's it for now. Gonna play around with my jigsaw puzzle and do a little genealogy research. Am setting ole Charley aside as I'm at a loss to figure out how to find something on him. I may write the Ramsey, IL library and see if I can't find a person to help me with old records.
