Wednesday afternoon

Thought I'd better blog and get my snow pictures posted so I always know where they're at.  Didn't sleep that well last night as I had weather on my mind and kept getting up to look outside. And take some photos. These first two were taken on Jan. 13 & 15.

It's gotten a lot darker since I first sat down here to type. I guess I'd better go retrieve that hummingbird feeder so it doesn't freeze up tonight.  I had them coming to eat minutes after I set it out again this morning. Poor things.

I spent a little time in the sewing room this morning and managed to get a quilt top sewn together and some pieces cut out for my next square. Also worked on my jigsaw puzzle and took a two-hour nap. Interesting day. Ha!  Haven't been out to my mailbox for a few days and assume the stuff out there (if there is even stuff out there) is just my usual junk.  The sand truck did go down the road today. I haven't been able to really look at the driveway but maybe I'll open the garage door tomorrow and see what I can see.

High winds are expected so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the power stays on. I think most people have that on their mind right now.  I've prepared what clothing I'll wear if the house does go cold and thankfully, the neighbor next door has a generator and offered her house for refuge if it gets too miserable in here.  Course I don't even know how I would walk over to her house as the snow is 20" high or more and all I have for my feet is some cheap plastic galoshes I bought last year. They do keep my shoes dry but won't be any good for snow that has accumulated.

I'm continuing to binge watch Homeland on Showtime. Unfortunately, I read an article in the PA paper this morning about the upcoming episodes ending and the stupid writer told all the details I haven't seen yet. Like Beau Bridges getting to be President.  I've had golf on most of the time as the local news people are beside themselves with excitement that they actually have weather news to report. They do get carried away and then repeat over and over.

Pretty sure I won't be traveling to Port Townsend this Sunday for Ruth's funeral. Wish it could have been postponed so more people could attend.  Tomorrow will be the same routine as today (if we have power) and now I think I'll heat up a bowl of that homemade soup I made.
