I gassed up at Safeway and then drove to Port Angeles--- a little bit worried because I had heard snow was expected. But it didn't come. Well, it sorta did. I did see a lot of new snow in the mountain trees just north of town. I dropped a load of laundry at Jenni's house and picked up some empty bins to bring back here and keep in my car until Mary can take them home. Drove by my old house to see the For Sale sign out front. It sold in three days, by the way. I knew it would go fast.
I borrowed three more jigsaw puzzles from Jenni and she gave me some Monopoly tickets from Safeway to cash in. ($10 worth) That was a hassle, though. I had stopped at Safeway in PT on the way home and I've never seen it so crowded. People were even circling in the parking lot looking for a place to park. CROWDED! And the routine for cashing in the winning tickets was time consuming I had a line behind me before I got away from that customer service desk. Will try to make my Safeway trips in the early morning from now on.
The doctor gave me a cortisone shot in each hip so I'm praying I am able to maneuver a little better the rest of this month. I stopped at Jamestown Clinic in Sequim (after going to the wrong building first) and filled out papers to be a patient of this PA that I've already been going to for years. I have to establish myself "in the building" not just with the PA. And that requires I fill out the papers onsite (which I did) and then come back for a walk in appt. I asked her if I couldn't just make an appt when I'm sick and need to see her. Nope. Have to come in and be established. I think that's overkill. I asked her again...you mean I have to drive all the way from PT to see the PA when I'm well? Yep. Irritating to say the least.
I stopped at the new Dollar Tree in Sequim to look it over and bought some liquid hand soap and a box of freezer waffles that I love. It was rainy and gray all the way home and a couple of times I felt out of sync driving home to PT and not home to PA. I was really worn out by the time I pulled into Discovery View parking lot. I stopped at the mailboxes to see if my forwarded mail was there. And finally -- it was! Then I started pulling my cart down the hall with all my stuff stacked on top of it. Got halfway down and realized I had to get on the elevator before walking down the hall. Just too tired to think straight.
I'm not going to do much more tonight but tomorrow will be another busy day. Need to get things hung on the walls to free up some more space; need to wash up a few dishes, iron some shirts, clean out my dresser, rearrange my book shelves and find little nooks and corners to put this and that. All fun stuff.
Even though it's only 5:10 I think I'm gonna get my jammies on and curl up in the recliner until bedtime.
