My place is slowly taking shape. Looks a lot better than it did last Saturday but I've still got little odds and ends to attend to. Tomorrow will be some ironing, might run a load of laundry, and really need to clean out the dresser drawers and closet. Have entirely too many pairs of socks. I'll continue to tweak various nooks and crannies as I find better ways to utilize the space. It's fun.
Dana and Lill came over this morning and he was able to climb on my footstool, a chair, and my bed to hang up various pictures and quilts. Place always seems homier once the walls are full -- and mine are full! I moved all my photo boxes to the hall closet shelf and put most of my books in the bedroom bookcase. I think I'll be able to sew in the corner of the bedroom that I've got picked out and my jigsaw puzzles will be put together on the table here in the living room. Or I might even use the little counter that separates the living room from the kitchen. We'll see how it goes.
Dinner tonight was beef stroganoff on noodles (mediocre) along with corn, broccoli salad and cream puff for dessert. You can guess which one I liked the best. Moved to another table to try and meet more folks. Tonight it was a guy who used to run around with my brother, Les. I graduated with his brother, Robert --- Dave Tuttle.
The activities director had a little St. Patricks get together at 3. Served these little green floats and did a dance. I posted the video on my FB page. My granddaughter wanted me to post pictures of the rooms so I clicked here and there and will show them on this blog.
Here's Emma, the activities director doing a little jig for us.
Here's my throne where I'll watch and complain about television. I have my printer in the corner on that little counter and may be able to do my jigsaw puzzles there as there's a lamp right over it.
I moved my other recliner a little to the left so it will recline all the way out for naps. There's still plenty of room to go by from the kitchen to the living room.
The tv sits in the corner and my knickknack shelf with "some" books is nearby. And yep, there's my cane!
Another view of the wall over the tv area. Just about every wall is covered. Ha!
My freestanding white cupboard fit real well in this corner. I keep it as a pantry for food. That's the bathroom door on the right and the hall closet is down that hall on the right.
I'm still organizing the shelves in here. There are more shelves hidden on the right.
Walk-in shower is a real plus and the toilet is high rise. I did end up having to put all my pants and sweats in a bin there on the front right but that's okay. I'll be thinning them out more eventually and I kind of like having a "table" there.
This is one view while sitting on the toilet. haha Yeah, I know. I'm corny.
Another view of the living room. I put a little table that slides easily under the big table so I can keep all the various odds and ends and paperwork that I'm always looking for and can't find. Kind of my catch all place.
The windows have nice blinds on them (no curtains) and someday I plan to get a single bed so I'll have more room in here. The bookcase is in the corner and those bins will eventually go. My ironing board needs to be there close to my sewing machine.
This is the right side of the bedroom and I have those nifty hangers that go downward and can hold five items a piece. Saves room.
My little red desk (had since I bought it at a yard sale in Bellingham in the 60s stayed with me and continues to be used as my sewing table. I have a small tv nearby but it's not hooked to cable. I just use it with Roku.
Another wall view with my grandkids and siblings hanging up
The kitchen has decorations everywhere too. It's kind of like a cartoon house.
My kitchen is small but since my meals are prepared elsewhere I only use it for lunch and snacks.
This is what I hung in the bathroom cause I wanted that picture but ran out of space. Ha Ha
These two wood burned pictures are the only thing I have in the place that my ex-husband made.
And last but not least, here's the corner where I'll sit the most as I play games, blog, surf the net, and read Facebook posts.
The only annoyance (so far) is a tv played a bit loud on the other side of the wall pictured above. It's an older guy (Casey) and I figure he's probably got some hearing issues. I'll deal with it. My dad had the same problem. At least he goes to bed early.
Mary and Jake are coming over this Wednesday so I'm really looking forward to that.
