Back Where I Belong

Oh what a hard few days this transfer has been physically.  I can only do some much before the hips start screaming bloody murder and I have to sit for a while and then start again. Little by little, though, I'm getting there. Jen came today and we emptied more bins and boxes and had to put a lot of things on the free table.  Tomorrow Mary comes and I'll finish up the kitchen and clothes closet.  Going to give away dishes and clothes while I'm at it. I knew I'd find things I could live without once I got here.

Once I get all the boxes and bins empty and have put things on various shelves, I can take my time to tidy up little corners of clutter here and there.  Cable man came at noon so I have tv again (along with my roku channels) and Internet.    Once it's cleaned up around here I'll take pictures of the apartment and post on my blog.  The dinners have been wonderful. I especially notice because my meals these past years have been hit and miss 'cause I just didn't feel like cooking a lot of the time. Tonight we had baked potato with sour cream and chives, coleslaw, cooked carrots, salmon, and cherry pie with whipped cream.  Last night it was chicken breast wrapped in bacon with cheese on top with brown rice, broccoli, and a tossed salad. Dessert was chocolate cake with cherry toppings. Yeah, you might have known I'd discuss the food.  ha ha

Am meeting lots of people at dinners and in the hall but of course, I can't remember their names yet. I sat with Bud Johnson and three other guys last night. I think his name was Bud. I've forgot already. He's the brother of Don who was married to my cousin Susie.  Another lady told me that Bud had quite the singing voice as they have karoke twice a month.  Here's Bud (if that's his name)....
I walked around with my camera taking a few shots here and there.
There are more than one laundry rooms. This is the dryer closest to my apartment and the can where you put your trash.
This is the washer and under the table are recycle bins for cardboard, paper, plastic, and glass
The pop machine and chips machine is just down the hall from my door
Here's the elevator, also not terribly far for me to walk to it
The mailbox area where you are issued your own key
The dining room that serves breakfast and dinner. 9am and 4 pm.  Several people, however, don't eat here. Some prefer eating in their own room. I did that tonight but only because I was hurting so bad.
This common area offers newspapers to read
The library selection seems large too
Big screen tv in the lounge area
Women playing bingo in the activity room
                                                                    The pool room
The dog park in the back
The courtyard in the middle of the complex. I look out on this
                                             That's Seaport Landing (Avamere now)
I think that's my two living room windows on the upper right. That tree will be a pretty sight when it blooms.
Another view of the courtyard

The lady directly below me has this picture of her dogs outside her door. She's a retired music teacher and teaches piano lessons now. She's nice.
                                                             View from my recliner

Moving day gang...
Sue cleaning the cabinet in my P.A. house a few days before moving
Catie, Wayne, and Jenni packing up odds and ends
Susan, me, Catie, Chris and Starr (friends of Catie's) came from Renton to lend muscle. I was so thankful.

Mary and Andy are in the process of doing what needs to be done to the house to put it up for sale.  I'll post the link of that once it's online.  I sure am happy with this place and glad we put in the effort to relocate.
