Looking Over My Town in the Early Hours

I drove down to Safeway at 7 a.m. this morning to take advantage of the hours set aside for seniors to shop. Ran into Jan Higdon, the only person I recognized of those browsing the aisles. Last night I made a quick stop at QFC to pick up two items and ran into Ed Lake. Both him and Jan were from the class of 1958 and they were the only ones I knew.  QFC didn't have something I needed so I decided to try Safeway this morning. By then, I had thought of a few more things I could use.  The apartment manager of this place stopped me on my way back to my apartment telling me she didn't want people leaving and putting her building in danger of the virus. Told me to tell her if I needed something and they would try to get it for me. She's a bossy broad so I didn't press the issue. If she keeps up this sentry duty, however, we're going to have words.  Curious how she thinks her or "her crew" are more safe shopping than I am. Nobody's safe.  I don't intend to go out needlessly anyhow. It didn't sit well with me that felt she could dictate my movements.  Especially after she announced loudly a few days ago that this building is an apartment house for seniors NOT assisted living!   I suspect she's a tad pumped up with her own importance but I'll let it slide for now. And avoid her as much as possible.

I'd been wanting to get some pictures around town and since it wasn't raining and traffic was light, I drove down Water and up Lawrence. Noticed the deer pictured above along Kai Tai Lagoon near the Safeway gas pumps.  They were everywhere. I'm sure they think they own this town.
Here's some more..... (click on photo to enlarge)
                                                                 Aldrich's on the right
My aunt and uncle's house on Lawrence. Lyall and Elva Arey. This house continues to change in appearance over the years.

Cute little park on Water that used to house a gas station when I was a kid. Near George Gunn's old store.
The Food Co-op. Used to be a small bowling alley but it's grown in size
A house on Lawrence that near the corner of Pierce, I think. Looks remodeled as it wasn't familiar to me.
The Plaza shopping center downtown. See that yellow curb guard in front? Well, I didn't and my poor tire is ticked off at me! haha

A view of Water Street at 7:30 a.m., cross street -Taylor
The bank up there on the left. George Gunn's store on the right
                                                                              The library
                                                    Redding's house on Lawrence
                                                              The Uptown Theater
Water & Monroe - enters into Point Hudson
another shot of that little park on Water near George Gunn's old place
                                                         Heading down Water Street
Pretty yellow house on the corner of Lawrence and Monroe. Used to be two or three little homes there.

And that's my town tour for now. Once we can socialize a bit more, I intend to take photos all over town.
