Another Day Down

Didn't do anything special today. Just odds and ends. Squirted my apt. keyhole with W-40. Interesting, right? I did start working on a new quilt. I thought I'd try making a sew as you go blanket where each square is quilted with front, batting, and back and then all the squares are sewn together. Hard to explain but I've done a couple like that and it's easier when your work space is limited. I picked a pattern in my favorite book that I thought was easy and would be relaxing to do but after making four of them, I decided it was not easy and I didn't like it -- even though it had a name I liked:
Road Home. In a couple days I'm going to pick a different pattern.
I taped a cartoon from the paper today onto my apt. door. Trying to put on a happy face.
I made up banana cookie dough since my bananas were turning black too quickly. Wasn't in the mood to deal with the oven, though, so I'll keep the dough in the fridge and maybe cook a sheet at a time over a week or so.

The view from my window is pretty boring except for the yellow birds that are finally coming in to play among the limbs. I think they like the buds too.

I've been studying the limb that is closest to my window and have been trying to decide if I could figure out a way to get a small hummingbird feeder  out to that limb.  The window goes up and I know I can get the small screen out and put back in again but I'm not sure how I would maneuver getting that feeder to hang on the limb. I'd need a feeder with some kind of hanger that isn't cheap thin plastic but more substantial. I don't that I could count on my "grabber" to work for me. I'd probably drop it. Or.....maybe I could try one of those stick on the window from the outside feeders. I wonder if they hold.  I sure enjoyed my feeders at the PA house and I'm determined to get myself another one. Even though the manager (cause she's a control freak) would probably come up with some reason why I can't have one. Think I'll go online and see what's out there.

Dinner was pretty good today. Hotdog (sausage kind I think) with baked beans, potato salad, and brownie.  Tomorrow will be more interesting for me. I'm having a zoom video visit with my sis in PA. If they and me can figure out how it works. I've used it a couple times so it should be as easy as clicking on a link.  I'm hoping I can carry my laptop around the apartment to show her my place.

A couple other friends are coming by with flannel sheets and quilt batting for me tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some faces I know, even if I do have to meet them in the parking lot. Gotta remember to take my camera so I'll have something for my blog tomorrow.  ha ha

Well, that's it for now. If you get a chance, look for the Raker's Car Club video on Facebook. It's how I remember the town.
