Had a touch of de ja vu yesterday. I walked down to the elevator to go downstairs and check my mail but there were two people ahead of me with walkers and the manager says we can only ride one at a time. I went to a nearby chair to wait my turn and as I sat there looking down the hall, I recalled when my dad lived on this floor and he would slowly walk to the dining hall using the handrail. Until he had to start using a walker and then a wheelchair.
These vending machines weren't there when him and Marcella lived here. Not sure how much they're used today either. That stupid pop machine makes noise around the clock and I can hear it clear down in my apartment. I suppose the reason dad came into mind as strongly as he did was because today is the 11th anniversary of his death. I looked at some of my photos in my family file and found this one of him at Marcella's funeral. At least I think that's what it was. I missed her funeral as I came down with a horrible case of the flu. Just miserable.

This photo was taken in the lounge of this building right after Marcella died. Poor Dad. He was so miserable and couldn't hear a word.
Jenni dropped in for an hour today and we rode around town so Maddie could hide a few painted rocks for me.
Got three paperback books in the mail this week from granddaughter Catie who works at thriftbooks.com. THANK YOU CATIE GIRL!
My stimulus check showed up in my bank account yesterday so I stuck most of it in savings. Did decide to order something I've been wanting, though. A stick-to-the-outside-window hummingbird feeder. I'm anxious to get some birds in here. Here'a couple I took this morning.
Can't hardly see them as they mix in with the greenery so well.
Was busy at this table today cutting out pieces for a new pattern that I think will be more fun to sew. Called Stepping Stones. Also have a jigsaw puzzle in the works at the other end of the table and started a new book. I've read this series years ago and loved it. Am finding it just as entertaining now too. First one is called The Emigrants by Vilhelm Moberg.
I watched two VHS movies this week - Das Boot and Gandhi. And that is about all I have. Too hard to write a blog in the early evening as I run out of steam. And then there's always the fact that I have nothing much going on. Like everyone else.
