Yay! It's almost time for the weekend. Looking forward to doing the same thing I've done for weeks.
It's raining and I'm fine with that. Makes it easier to be inside. I worked on a sewing project a good part of the morning --one that drove me nuts! So glad it's over. My machine could probably use a good cleaning and tune-up but it's very expensive and they're probably closed anyhow. Plus, I'm not keen on driving to Sequim. I'll deal with it. Odd how I had such a dreadful time putting in a new needle. I've inserted needles a lot but today I could not find the right slot. My eyes didn't appreciate having to thread the needle myself either since the automatic threader went on the fritz.
Tomorrow will be better. I'll be sewing a couple dozen squares together for a quilt but the sewing should go smoothly as there isn't a lot of bulk like the crumb quilt table top. Not sure if I'll go to all the trouble to finish the entire quilt as I'm not sure I have anything onhand to use as batting. That's okay, though. I've got some applique ideas I want to play around with.
I think I'm going to retire to the recliner and see if I can't get some reading done. I suspect I'll nod off before I get too far, though, as my sleeping time was interrupted during the night and cut short this morning with some terrific toe/foot/ankle cramps. I just don't understand why they're occuring so strongly when I was completely free of them for a very long time. With them and the sciatica, my early mornings are not my favorite time of day. They used to be so I'm hoping whatever is going on runs its course and LEAVES ME ALONE!
Dinner menu for today (around 4:30 delivered) is combination pizza, tossed salad, and rootbeer floats. One good thing (I guess) about their desserts. Most of the time they're very small portions. I suppose I should be thankful I get a dessert every day and not complain that it's not enough. But that's not my way. I bought a Snickers bar yesterday when I ran to Safeway to pick up my quinine water. Normally, I can ignore those candy bars at the check outs but I wanted one. I cut it into six pieces and am trying to see if I can make it last six days. This will be a first for me so we'll see how successful I am.
In my ongoing attempt to keep the news out of my apartment, I tuned into the Pluto channel on my roku. Just having a movie playing in the background is better for my nerves than the media telling me how I'm gonna die this year. I watched an old John Wayne movie, The Quiet Man. Have seen it several times but enjoy it every time. The second was a 1992 flick with a young Matt Damon called School Ties. It was pretty good and was surprised I'd never seen it before.
Well, since I don't have any new pictures to show, I think I'll go pull out my USB stick and find some old ones. And as usual, click on to enlarge
