It's been a nice day. Mainly because I haven't been dealing with that nasty sciatica that has been flaring off and on for weeks on end. Course I haven't been out and about either, preferring to take things easy around here today. I messed with my tv some more trying to figure out exactly what channels I wanted in my favorites. Took me a while to figure out the steps you needed to follow but I'm satisfied now. I also surfed through Netflix to put a few shows in my favorites list there. Oh, life is so hard sometimes. Ha!
My sweet neighbor brought me some chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven this a.m. and that was a nice surprise. Breakfast was delivered a little late but it was tasty. Bowl of oatmeal, some cottage cheese and mandarin oranges (that I'll save for later or maybe tomorrow's lunch), 2 pieces of bacon (burnt so I had to toss them out) Such a waste. I love bacon. And....a yummy cinnamon roll which I saved for after lunch. The menu for today's dinner reads: pasta salad, grilled chicken burger, and raspberry parfait.
I rearranged yet again.
Been having problems with desired lighting depending on what hobby I'm working on. Meaning jisgsaw puzzles mostly. I like this arrangement and I think it gives me more room. Course I say that everytime. Here's some of the stuff I played with today.
took me a while last night to decide what cross stitch pattern I was going to start next. I wanted something easy to read and not hard to follow. This one has various quilt like designs in it.
Laptop is my friend. Besides emails and Facebook, there's crossword puzzles, newspaper, bingo, and solitaire. Plus I have my genealogy notebooks and such under the table.
I opened up a new jigsaw that Sue gave me. 550 pieces and the light is right over my head.
The Pandemic Quilt I'm working on is going to take me a good long time but I'm managing to use up lot of scrap material and trying out new techniques (for me) on how to put it together when you don't have a lot of space. I need 80 squares and each square requires a lot of work. I have about 28 done so far.
Tomorrow I may drive over to visit Mary Gaboury as they got home from Yuma yesterday. She's only two blocks down the road so I might use my two walking sticks or if that isn't comfortable, I'll just pull out the ole walker and mosey on down the street like all the other old ladies do in this neighborhood.
Lady across the hall continues to have coping problems now and again. Poor thing. I think she locked herself out this morning but I didn't hear her yelling which I usually do. Some neighbor must have called 911 as a cop showed up to help her. She was already back in her room by then as she figured out the combination to her lock. Caregiver said the cop was super cute so I'm sorry I missed all that. Usually I've got my nose and ear to the door trying to figure out what's goin' on in the neighborhood. It's my only link with my neighbors for now and it is entertaining for me. If I live long enough, I suppose it will be me carrying on in the hallway.
Here''s some pictures of what I was doing last year at this time. Cousin Linda came up from Kentucky for her last Rhody.
