It's about 9:05 as I sit here on this sunny Wednesday morning awaiting the delivery of breakfast. Thought I would write a few lines early even though there's very little to write about (as you will soon realize) Some mornings I get up and decide I need to rearrange my knickknacks. Yep. We're talking about a woman with a busy life. Ha! So here we go....
Or so I thought. Blogger is still asleep and won't let me download pictures. I'll try later.
I stayed in all day yesterday. Did some sewing and will do more today. Just having fun throwing odds and ends together to see what kind of a mess I can come up with. I'm also starting a new writing project. Not sure yet how I intend to do this but I'm thinking on it. I want to write a historical piece of fiction about my grandmothers. Meaning I'll use a lot of the genealogy data I have on them but will need to imagine their lives as well. Not intending to self-publish as it won't be of any interest to anyone except my g.g.g. grandchilden as they sift through granny's old paperwork when I'm long gone. I can hear them now. Man! What a nutball granny was!
My door is open right now and I can hear a conversation going on a couple doors down in the hallway. The guy mentioned seeing Bob Dylan at the Gorge years ago and said he just turned 79. The woman said she can't imagine him in Depends. Ha!
Anyhow, back to my grandmas. I had three. My dad's mother, Mae; and my mother's biological and adoptive mothers, Doris and Lillian. I never met any of them. My dad's mom died of pneumonia at St. John's Hospital when he was 15. My mother's two moms died within five months of each other of cancer and TB when she was 16. Two of my grandmothers went by their middle names. Viola Mae Holt Blankenship was known as Mae, and Cora Lillian Blanchard Nisbet was known as Lilly.
Well, breakfast just arrived so I guess I'll stop and chow down. Scrambled eggs, 2 link sausage, and apricots. Just tried inserting photos and it's still not working so maybe later in the day.
Two hours later.....Spent some time at the sewing machine working on sewing tiny remnants together for a crumb quilt. Decided I would keep going until my bobbin ran out. Now I'm back in the living room to snip all the pieces apart so I can begin again tomorrow. Are you bored yet? Well, it's only getting worse. My pictures for today are my new spots for knickknacks ...and one interesting one of Nathan, one of the two servers that brings around meals to the residents. He's much cuter without the mask.
Put this chicken outside my door on the food shelf. Can't remember what cartoon show or movie she's from but she's one of my favorites.
My little kk's are on a shelf in my bedroomn. Three of them are Port Townsend mementos. That little six-pack reads: Beer-Helping ugly people have sex since 1862. Got it at a garage sale.
These three are also favorites and sit on the top shelf of the bookcase in the living room.
One of the window sills in the living room
The bedroom window sill. I've had these particular kk's for years and they all mean something to me
More living room window sill kk's.
And here's our meal server for this Wednesday morning. He's a nice kid.
