It's July but not quite summer yet

Just woke up from a nap and see it's raining again.  Been kind of a drizzly week all around. I made the mistake of eating this big ole cinnamon roll that came with breakfast. Pastries have always been a favorite with me, along with ice cream, pies, cakes, puddings, and cookies.  And a lot of other stuff too!  Damn it!

Breakfast was a small portion of scrambled eggs, two link sausage and the usual canned fruit. And the roll.  I put the fruit in the fridge like l usually do and if I want it later, it's there. If I don't want it (which I usually don't) I just toss it.  Wish I could toss cinnamon rolls too. I decided to eat it with lunch. Big mistake. Felt crummy afterwards and I knew better. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a glass of water for lunch. I should have let it stop there but noooooo... Miss Piggy had to eat that roll.
I'll learn sooner or later. I think it's extra discouraging to me right now because I'm trying real hard to get in diet mode.  Tomorrow is another day.

I ran to Safeway at 8:30 as I needed about four items. After reading the paper online, working the crossword, checking email and Facebook, playing bingo and solitaire, I was ready to get to work. I spent an hour+ at the sewing machine piecing small material remnants together for another crumb quilt bag. It's a slow process but my bag of pieces is pretty well depleted now so I can concentrate on making more squares, sewing them together, sewing up with lining and batting and making into a bag or two. I sold two and have an order for another. Selling dirt cheap.  I pressed all the little pieces afterwards so when I start in tomorrow, it'll be easier to get them going.  I also spent entirely too much time trying to get my bobbins wound.  I had this old spool of thread which was full but I had a heck of a time getting the starting point started. Long story and boring so I won't go into that.

I left the machine and did a little work on the jigsaw and then I sat and watched an old Tommy Lee Jones movie called The Homesman. I'd seen it before but it was worth watching again. Had Meryl Streep, one of her daughters, and Hilary Swank in it too.  I've been watching various shows on PBS with my passport membership at night.  Redfern now is pretty good.

I took a long nap in the recliner and checked the mail. Nothing there but junk mail. Two days in a row. Dinner was just delivered. Salmon, baked potato, cooked carrots, broccoli salad (which is tasty) and a lemon bar.  I'll set it aside for two more hours as I'm not hungry yet.

Mary and Andy are planning to come to PT on the 4th for a party at Adelma. They may try to come in here and visit too. I hope so even if it's just a short trip.  One day next week I'm heading to Jenni's for a barbeque on their deck as Maddie will be home from college then. For a week or more before she goes back to her job over there in Ellensberg.  Mary Gaboury will ride along with me.

As soon as we get a decent day, Mary and I (and maybe Jud) will go out to Port Ludlow and visit the Jovags. We'll sit on their deck with social distancing.  Haven't seen them in over a year.

Just saw new directions for posting videos easier from youtube, so think I'll go work on that and see if I can do it.
Here's one I've always loved. Cher & Meatloaf. It's had over 6 million views so I know I'm not the only one finding it worthwhile.
