I always remember February 22

Today is my mother's birthday. She died 4 years ago next month and would have been 95.  My stepmother was also born in Febuary on the 16th.  She died 13 years ago and would have been 96 this month.  I never really got to know my mother that well and sadly, it's probably for the best. She didn't possess mothering skills to brag about.

I finished a neat bird jigsaw puzzle the other day and it was really fun so I set up a second one today. There were four separate bird puzzles in this box, and much to my dismay, this second puzzle (brand new) I'm sure is missing a piece. I always do the edges first and I spent all afternoon looking for one last piece. Finally gave up and I'll eat my words if I discover it is hidden somewhere on the card table but I'm pretty sure it's not there. Irritates the hell out of me!

I continue to feel listless and tired (and nauseated) but I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be on the mend. I'm not actually sick but I'm sure not up to par either.  My ears hurt now and again so I half suspect I might have a sinus infection.  I'm in between doctors right now and can't get in to see the new one until the end of April. Damned if I'll go back to that other guy!

The Port Angeles paper had a story on an author I'm reading right now. House Lessons by Erica Bauermeister.  It's pretty interesting too. The house is up on Morgan Hill.

I painted about 8 rocks this morning. They were ones I already had stored in the closet and had a white basecoat on them. I wanted to experiment with "sunset" colors mixing oranges, reds, yellow, etc. Tomorrow I will work on adding some silhouette animals. They look pretty ho hum right now but once I decorate and spray, they should improve.

Watched two interesting movies -- I Care a Lot and The Clovehitch Killer.  I also watched Nomadland and while it was good, I've seen better.

My March rent is due next Monday so I assume one day this week the manager will get with the program and tell me what my rent amount will be this year. I assume it will be close to what it was last year minus the $700 a month "service package" which I'm quitting.  Going to be so nice to have that over and done with.

And what I'm thankful for this week?  That I don't live in Texas.  Or any of those southern states being hit with all the weather problems. Actually, I'm thankful I don't live in the Northeast either or the midwest.

One neat picture I saw on Facebook today....
