My daughter came over from Renton to visit me today. Probably the last time I'll see her for a while (except through Facetime on my phone) as they're moving to Vancouver August 1st. She brought me all kinds of goodies (like she always does) and I love seeing her come. hee hee I got a bottle of sparkling cider, a roll of quarters, two magazines, frozen cookie dough, frozen pulled pork, a pork chop, two chicken patties with buns, 2 maple bars (and yes, I already ate them both!), a bag of flaxseed meal, a can of peas, a carton of watermelon, and a jar of raspberry freezer jam. IS SHE A SWEETIE OR WHAT?!!!!!
She also helped me with various "on my list" issues with my computer and phone. One thing that was especially driving me bonkers on my laptop was these popups that kept happening. (not ads) Come to find out, I was making it happen when my wrists rested on the laptop keyboard. She knew that because it was happening to her too. I think I'm close to getting a new monitor so I plan on setting up my big PC and will use the regular keyboard then. Mary also helped me pick out a flat screen scanner I've had my eye on and I'll probably order that later this month or in August.
We went to Bayview for lunch because Doc's at Point Hudson was closed. Had a cup of chowder and a side of fries that we split. Both were terrific. She stopped at Sea Breeze to fill up as her car was dinging telling her she was moving on fumes. She said she didn't realize she had an 18 gallon tank.
Funny stories she told me: They have to spell the word WALK now because if they say it out loud, Poppy goes bananas and runs to the garage door where her leash is hanging. She loves to go for walks and listens for that word. She also told me she let Jake wear her fitbit watch to his arena sports one day and he put on 18,000 steps! She has to work hard to get it up to 10,000 steps when she takes Poppy out. She also said she earned all kinds of badges because of it. All news to me as I don't know that much about fit bits.
We went over to visit Lee and Elaine Arey for about an hour. Pictures below.
I wished I had zoomed in more before clicking on this shot. Don't know what I was thinking but Elaine's back yard is BEAUTIFUL!They have hummingbirds coming in to eat and with my red shirt, they must have thought I was food because one came pretty dang close to my nose! haha
I have got to sit down and read my camera manual so I 'll know how to get better pictures when the light is in the background. It's on my TO-DO LIST.
