It was Housework kind of day

You wouldn't think there would be that much housework when you live in a small one-bedroom apartment but there is.  I got up before I wanted to this morning -- thanks to another dang FOOT CRAMP! I just don't understand why they've continued to plague me these past couple weeks or more when I haven't had any issue with them for a very long time.  I've got a routine set up when I go to bed "just in case" I'm awakened with another fun toe/foot cramp.  First of all, I make sure my walker is handy so I can use it to walk. I also have a rice pack ready to toss in the microwave as I've heard heat can help. And last but not least, I have my electric massager next to the bed so I can work my toes, feet, and lower legs over. Oh, it's a delightful way to start the day.  Or to get up at 3 a.m. and go through the steps.  I know. I know. I should be thankful I'm still waking up. Ha!

Anyhow, I ran a load of laundry (using my walker) down the laundry room to be the first in line. I usually beat everyone anyhow. Hours are 8 to 8 and my wash and dry only takes one hour.  I threw everything on the bed 'cause I didn't feel like folding and hanging things up. I hate that part of laundry.  It's done now, though.  I decided (and I don't know why) that it was time to clean out the spices and certain food shelves.  I tossed a couple that I'd probably had in the cupboard since I lived in Hadlock. It always feels so great to purge messy cupboard shelves.

I ran to Safeway as I prefer going early to beat the crowds. No luck today, however. Tourists maybe?  It was crowded and unfortunately, my low back was in one of her snits and I struggled pushing that cart around. Thankfully, I only needed about $30 worth and I knew where everything was.  I didn't see one person I knew and that's become a regular thing now. The town is changing.

I came home and cut out material to make two pillow cases for my sister's birthday next week. She'll be 75. I thought about putting something on Facebook asking people to send her a card but cards and stamps aren't cheap these days and half the time, people don't have any onhand anyway.  Too bad because she would have enjoyed that. I'll think about and maybe I'll ask a few. Her name and address is Janie Lammers, 1235 Landes, #114, Port Townsend, WA 98368.  We aren't speaking right now and that seems to be something we're doing off and on more frequently as we age.  Sigh....

Mary Gaboury came by to use my computer to type up some forms that she'll take elsewhere to print out.  I have my desktop and my laptop up and running now. So happy.  I'll continue to use my laptop for Internet access and surfing and fixing up photos and such but I wanted my desktop for writing.  I've been wanting to get back into that and my laptop is a challenge because the cursor jumps where I don't want it to, other screens pop up, and I find myself agitated entirely too quickly.  Which isn't anything new these days.  Especially if I have the news on.

Rita Hubbard was nice enough to come over and help me set up the desktop so I could print from it too.

Yesterday I baked up some chocolate chip cookie dough that my daughter brought me and I had in the freezer. Sent half a dozen home with Mary and gave a few to four neighbors last night.  And yeah, I ate some too.

I air fried some frozen fries for lunch today and decided it was time I sat down and tried to clean the inside of the toaster oven. Man! Do they get dirty fast. And all because of the air fryer!  Which I'm liking more all the time. Anyhow, I scrubbed and scrubbed and grabbed a brillo pad to work on a couple of cookie sheets.  Not an easy job, especially having to stand up.  The fronts are looking okay but I'll save the backs for another day when I'm feeling ambitious.

Nothing much planned for my weekend.  My daughter, Mary, is going camping in eastern Wa. My daughter, Jenni, is going to Vegas and my friend, Ann, is going to the ocean.  I'm going to my sewing room.  But I'm fine with that. haha

I was going to fix a stuffed green pepper for dinner but I'm really not in the mood to cook. Maybe I'll prepare it tomorrow morning and keep it in the fridge until I'm ready to cook it for supper.  I may just fix myself a hamburger tonight -- or not.  It would mean dirtying up the air fryer again unless I decided to fry on the stove top. Oh, decisions, decisions.  Mary did bring me a frozen package of pulled pork but I'll have to call her as I forgot how she told me to prepare it.  I hate my memory.

My nighttime tv watching has been confined to 'The Rookie' on Hulu and various Youtube videos. Am especially hooked on 'Welcome to my Curls' with Renee Hayden. Tune her in.  You'll enjoy it. She's got a ton of them out there.
