A day out in the county

I picked up Mary at 11:30 and we headed to Port Ludlow to pick up Alyce Hansen. She lives on Mats Mats Bay and has a view to die for. Been there since the 1940s.  Tri-Area Community Center was offering free pulled pork sandwiches in Hadlock Bldg. Supply parking lot and that was our destination. I was hoping there would be lots of folks I hadn't seen in ages but alas, the crowd was only fair.  Good food, though.

We left there and went by Mary's sister's house in Hadlock so she could give this poster to her brother, John, who was visiting from Phoenix. It was of him at age 17 with his girlfriend who was 15.  They married but later divorced.
We rode around looking at houses and Alyce was amazed at all the new homes built on roads she hadn't been down in years.  When we got back to her house, she gave us blueberry cobbler to take home. I'm having that for dessert tonight.

Stopped at Safeway as I wanted to have corn on the cob for dinner.  My salad is already made so when I finish this, I'll head into the kitchen and get busy. I'm cleaning my coffee pot right now as my coffee tasted bitter this morning. I ran white vinegar through it and now I have to run two cycles of fresh water.

I sent off a reprint order to  Shutterfly and then I decided to try and put some more pictures on my blog sidebar.  I tried and tried but I couldn't get them in the order I wanted (even though  I was doing exactly what the directions said to do!)  I didn't sleep well last night so I'm kind of dragging right now. Will still try and stay up until 9 or 10 if I can.  Didn't get anything much done today so tomorrow I'll get busy on sewing. I've moved my sewing machine to the living room and put my recliner in my bedroom. Frige noises were interrupting my sleep when I moved to the recliner at 3 a.m. so that was my solution. I thought I had won the battle but this mornig at 5:30, the guy on the other side of my bedroom wall must have his bed too close to the wall again because I heard FIVE knocks and was wide awake!  (the chair was next to that wall)  I wonder if my great plan is going to work now.

Had family company yesterday. My sister showed up for about 40 minutes and a half hour later, my brother and sis-in-law dropped in. He brought me a small bag of quarters and boy, was I happy to get them.  My laundry chores are taken care of for weeks and weeks now. Thank you DANA!

It's kinda dark in here for 5 pm. Clouds are rolling in and we'll probably get some rain again overnight. I hear hot temps are due at the end of the week and I'm hoping PT won't be hit with it. Or if we are, that it passes quickly.  I don't do hot weather well.  Not much to speak of on my calendar this week. Mary is having a yard sale on Saturday so I'll go sit with her for a couple of hours. They are having a Rhody Parade at noon but I haven't decided if I'll try to head in that direction. Kind of depends on what my back is doing.  Course I do have a walker now and I can always push that baby anywhere I want to go.

Think I'll watch this video on Youtube tonight that tells you what settings you can take off your phone. I hesitate to mess with it but I'm betting I've got a  lot of stuff that I don't need.  I tried to use my cellphone today with the GPS app to make sure I knew where Alyce lived but it said I had no service. I don't get that.  I was able to use it last time I went to her house.

Time to fix dinner. I'm cooking my corn on the cob in the microwave and it only takes 3 minutes. I love that.
