Activity around my apartment

I often go to my recliner during the night to finish sleeping. Sometimes it's at midnight but usually around 3 or 4.  I do this when my feet and toes are cramping up. Seems to keep them at bay if I'm not in bed. Last night I made my usual trek to the chair but found the refrigerator was running so loud, I couldn't drop off. This morning I noticed it was continuing to make a racket but then it would turn off and be dead quiet. My neighbor had to have a new refrigerator brought in when hers quit working so I half wonder if mine is trying to go on the fritz too.  I pulled it out (was thankful it was on wheels) to see if maybe vacuuming back there might make a difference.  That was a stupid move.  I think I knew it was motor related and not because of dust or dirt.  I had a mop back there that had fallen over weeks ago and I couldn't reach it so my decision was two-fold.  Got the mop but found the area back there was pretty clean. I decided to clean out the inside since I had taken everything out anyway and rearranged where I had kept things. It does look better.

I made an early morning run to the pharmacy and Safeway at 8:30.  Was annoyed that my prescription wasn't ready.  I had gone in a few days ago and they said they were "out" so gave me a few and told me to come back in two days. I did and they're still "out."  They said their computer system was switching over and it took 3 months for it to catch up.  Baloney!  At first she told me they were completely "out" so couldn't give me a few to last until the shipment arrived.  Then, she "found" some. Two dozen of them in fact.  Told me to come back a third time.  I don't know why pharmacies all seem to have problems. Maybe because we've become a nation of pill takers.

I stopped at Safeway to pick up some coffee.  I usuallly buy Folgers or Maxwell House but decided on Safeway brand of Donut Shop.  I looked around for MJB and there wasn't any. I wonder if they don't make that anymore.  I also picked up some junior mints. I keep them in the fridge but sometimes have a small candy dish on goodies on my shelf outside my door.  I knew Casey next door looked forward to helping himself. I quit for a while 'cause I think he was grabbing a handful and my candy dish was emptying out a little too quickly. Anyhow, I put some out there this morning and he walked by with his walker. He hesitated when he saw the candy and kept on walking 'cause my door was wide open. I guess he had second thoughts, though, as he backed himself right up again and took one. haha

I made the effort of moving my kitchen clock a foot higher on the wall as it was catching a glare from the window and I couldn't always see the face.  After all the trouble of getting up on a step stool and hammering away, I came back to admire my work and found the glare is still there.  I guess I'll learn to live with it.

Cynthia Roduin brought over a large sack of material scraps for the activity director to use on the decoupage they're playing around with. She was shocked to see the variety. THANK YOU CINDY!  My neighbor told me their scissors were all pretty bad for cutting material so I dug around in my apt and took 9 pair downstairs along with a cutting mat and rotary cutter.  Put yellow duct tape on them so I can retrieve later on down the road.  I was surprised I had that many in my apartment and was more surprised this morning when I found SIX more pairs.  I never realized I had a thing about scissors.

I've got three fans running in here right now. I've already had to change my clothes and shoes after running errands and doing rearranging. I suspect it's going to get hot this afternoon. I don't have that much planned. Maybe some playing around at the sewing machine and I am into a good book I want to sit down and read.  Keeping faith by Jodi Picoult.

I started watching this documentary on Amazon Prime last night called Route 66. I like being able to see other parts of the country from my recliner. My favorite tv watching right now, though, continues to be Youtube videos. Amazing how much you can learn.

And that's about all I've got today.  Saturday I'll be out and about and am hoping to get some pictures.
