My Tuesday so Far

I had an 8:15 a.m. doctor appt so as usual, I didn't sleep that well the night before. I didn't have the runs like the day prior but my stomach was still queasy --and I knew why.  Just hate it when I can't overcome my silly hangups.  But I worried for nothing. It turned out quite well, as a matter of fact. Got right in and got right out.  I was hoping he'd give me a cortisone shot in my right hip as the one in June didn't take. He had my x-rays up and said my hip looked fine. Didn't even have much arthritis in it. Then he asked where I hurt and I pointed to my right low back (near the hip).  He pushed on it and I winced big time.  Yep.  It's my back; not my hip!  I suppose I kind of knew that already.

He is referring me to some clinic in Bremerton that gives shots in the back so now I'm waiting for them to call.  I hope I don't have a month or longer before I can get in but I half suspect that will be the case.  It might mean they'll want me to have an MRI too. I can only hope I don't get diarrhea as I'm very claustrophobic and just talking about MRI machines can make me ill.  I'll deal with it, though.  I've found that getting around using my walker isn't always working anymore and I've got to get down to business and have this problem solved.

Harry Goodrich called me today and said he was reading one of my books and discovered that my grandmother (on my dad's side) and his mother were both named Holt.  He laughed and thought it would be too funny if all these years living next door to each other we were distant cousins.  I told him I was going to research on ancestry so he gave me what info he had of his side of the family/

Also said his class is having a reunion on Sept. 24th at the Elks and he was told to invite whoever he ran into that might be interested. I've got half a dozen or so in my class that I will notify about it. Mary G and I will definitely go.

I mailed off a gift to my friend, Doris LaChance, today. She's in assisted living in S. Seattle. We were going to go visit but she moved from the Kirkland place to the Seattle facility and that's too far for me to ask our driver to cart us around.

I sewed some more half triangles today and tomorrow I'll put together 11 of them.  Seems to be easier to stay at the machine when I've got a good audio book running.

I guess we've had a case of covid show up in the building. Manager won't say who, of course. Could have been a visitor or a resident. Bound to happen sooner or later as it seems cases are popping up left and right all over the place.

Well, I think I'm going to study my scanner settings now and see if it will scan some odds and ends I have in scrapbooks.
