Just Odds & Ends this October morning

I got my flu shot yesterday. Half wonder if I had a reaction last night. Went to bed feeling fine but woke up at 1 a.m. with a severe bout of  chills & fever.  Ached all over to the point of really feeling sorry for myself. Moved to the recliner after wrapping up in my heavy housecoat with a comforter.  Still feeling kind of punk but then I often do in the mornings. Poor me.

And after typing one paragraph and having it disappear midstream, I know I'm going to have to go back to wordpress and study up on how their website works. I'm getting fed up with Google's blogspot seeming to have a mind of its own, and I need a new blog place. Putting it on my list.  Another thing on my to-do list is to study my camera booklet and learn exactly what my camera is capable of doing. If you go to Facebook at all, most of my pictures today are just repeats but like I said before, I know a lot of folks don't have Facebook on their radar.  I took a few pictures of the parking lot the other day but didn't pay attention while clicking of what each setting was that I was using. Going to go back and do it again. Here's some shots I got standing in the same place.

Manager just walked by with a prospective new tenant. Heading down to the end of the hall where Lulu lived. I heard her say she was living in Sequim. Looks to be about my age or younger.

I finished a quilt this week and have it hung in my apartment. It was made in 1980 by this quilting group in Salem. Paula Macdonald gave me the squares that were included in some bags of material she gifted me.  I had planned to donate it to Discovery View and hung it in the library but the manager had a fit and ranted that she can't have the residents decorating her walls with their art work.  I took it down and told myself I have to remember that she's a strange one.  My brother, Dana, is coming by tomorrow to help me tack another quilt on my bedroom wall that I don't think I can do alone.

I bought myself a new airfryer last week. Still timid about using it but I'm sure I'll get more confidence as I go along. Shown here on the right. I picked one that both my daughters have.

I decided to subscribe to the Leader yesterday and wouldn't you know....I try to log on this morning and the password doesn't work.  I only signed up for three months of the online edition. I'll know by then if I want to keep taking it or not.  I rearranged my bedroom again.  Just couldn't find the right combination of allowing me to sew comfortably. I think I've got it now. Really needed to have that ironing board up as it was a pain putting it up and putting it away again.

Judi Robbins (a friend from high school days) "might" trade beds with me. She wants a double and I want a twin. We're going to test out each others' mattresses first to see if they suit us.

Granddaughter Maddie and her husband, Ants, are on their way to their new home in Columbus, MS. It won't be theirs until the 15th, though.  Sure am going to miss her.  Mary sent me a picture of Jake and a neighborhood friend exploring a nearby creek. So glad he's got lots of kids to play with.
And Mary is finding lots of running room for Poppy to explore too. They head out even in the rain.

Decided my less than good appt. with the eye doctor downtown was cause to find a new one. I have an appt in Hadlock for next month.  Next week Jenni is coming down to drive me to Silverdale for my next back injections. Not looking forward to that but I'll do whatever I have to do if it means I might get to get out and walk again.

I signed up for HBO for a month or two. Started to watch Elizabeth Moss in The Invisible Man last night but it was too upsetting so I had to FF to the end. And I'd been looking forward to that movie too! I'm watching 'Scenes from a Marriage' right now. It's kind of depressing but the acting is good.  I liked 'Mare of Eastttown' and am enjoying Jean Smart in Hacks too.  Mostly, though, I tune in to Youtube. So much good stuff on there.

Ordered a box of probiotics on Amazon the other day. Called Align. Mary's doctor prescribed it for her and she insists it will help my "bowel issues." Also have to remember to taken Metamucil every day. I get lazy about it sometimes.

Today I'm going to start editing my Story Worth stories for the  book I've been busy writing for since the first of the year. I had 38 written and was  running out of subject material because I've written about so many similar topics already.

There's a lady downstairs who cuts hair so I contacted her on Facebook to see if I could be a customer. I'm really looking shaggy and messy right now. Although I generally always look that way so it doesn't really matter.

Here's a couple shots I took when I was out testing my camera in the parking lot --one of the Christmas cactus in the lobby (can't wait till it blooms) and two seagulls I went outside looking for because they were making such a racket.  I do wish it was easier  for me to get outside without having to use an elevator. But on the other hand, I'm glad this place has an elevator and I'm glad I don't have anyone living over me.

And I guess that's it for now.
