Keeping Busy in a small space

It's 10 a.m. and it's raining. I've got my windows open and Pandora playing on the TV.  Air fryer is cookin' up a frozen potato square although I guess it's really a rectangle.  Did all my morning chores including a hot shower and figuring out what I'm fixing for dinner.  Leaning towards a stuffed green pepper.  I haven't been out of the apartment for a couple of days so my pictures today will illustrate my adventure within these walls. Be prepared to be bored.  haha

Things not pictured that I did yesterday include the following:  Put in a color ink cartridge in my printer. Most of the time I've been without color as it's too expensive and b/w is enough but I was in one of those moods where I decided I really needed to invest in color and use it sparingly. Made a cat toy for my neighbor's cat, Cadillac. Used an old spool tied to a piece of yarn.  Mailed in my ballot for city council. Mailed off a letter.  Plus this stuff:

thought about leaving the dinner dishes until morning
then decided against that idea as I don't like getting up to a messy kitchen
did exercises on my bed for sciatica after watching youtube videos over and over 'cause I can never remember what they told me to do. Some I just plain couldn't do in this roly poly body figure I've developed into. And one of them (using the elastic I got from physical therapy) almost gave me a horrible upper leg cramp! It's going to be a long haul.
Had golf on all day as background sound mostly and it will be on again today.
Moved my sewing machine from the bedroom to the frontroom as it's easier to stick with projects if you have a tv entertaining you. I do have a small b/w set in my bedroom but it only plays roku and I've discovered the roku takes FOREVER to upload.
I spent entirely too much time on my laptop but oh well, it's my life!  I have a couple of solitaire games I like to play but most of the time, I'm just surfing around on Facebook, Youtube, and anything else that I can think of.
I brought out two books from my bookshelf to have by my chair so I'll be more likely to sit and read. I'm working on a biography of Rick Nelson right now called 'Travelin' Man' and it's pretty interesting. The two I brought are short stories. Found them in the library downstairs.
Did a lot of piecing on small scraps of material for my ongoing project of making a crumbs piece quilt. It's pretty relaxing but you have to remember to not sit too long or your body hurts.
Amazon brought me some ribbon I ordered to make Xmas ornaments and some cross stitch material.
Worked on one ornament but didn't like the way it turned out so I'm going to experiment with other designs today.  Shown below.
Saturday I took my latest little book over to Coho Printing (near the Elks Club) so I could get some copies made for Christmas gifts. Cost too much to keep the color photos but b/w will do. I opted to just have the pages stapled rather than bound as it was way cheaper.  I could have added more stories and I probably should have but I was anxious to get on to other projects.

I think I'll pull out my large box of rocks this week and study the Youtube videos on paint techniques I've seen.   I've also watched a lot of videos on Genealogy so that's another thing on my list to occupy myself this winter.

Nothing on my agenda this week except another doctor appt in Silverdale about my back injections. Barbara Shaw is driving me because I hate going out of county alone.  At Thanksgiving, I'm heading to Vancouver for dinner with Mary, Andy, Jake, and Poppy.  Dana and Lill are going too. I was kind of hoping to catch the train out of Kingston but Dana would prefer driving so we'll go around the canal and head south. I told him we could take turns driving because it's time I stepped out of my comfort zone and took on freeway driving as something I can do if I have to.

I went over to visit Elaine Arey last Thursday. Was hoping to get a picture of her and Lee but he was resting so I made Michelle (her daughter) pose with Elaine and Michelle's dog, Remington.
Elaine and Lee are moving to a really neat assisted living place in Bellingham on Thanksgiving weekend. Called Spring Creek.  Will be a big change for them as they've been in that house on Cherry Street since the 60's I think. Here's Elaine with her son-in-law, Bob Putich, and another of the new place she'll be residing.

I had my annual dermatologist appt this week. I was not comfortable with the male medical asst. she had standing in there by the computer while she looked over my body. I would have liked to have asked her some questions (about a private area) but damned if I was going to subject myself to that with him standing there. I thought it was pretty insensitive of her to not even ask me if I cared if he was in there. What's the matter with doctors today anyway?!  Have already decided I'm probably going to cancel the appt for next October.

And that about does it for today. I think I'll make a quick Safeway run just for the hell of it. I'm out of ice cream and I need it for my mental well being.
