I wish I had more childhood pictures of my Christmases but alas, it's not to be. The only one I could find is this one where my mother posed us three kids (Dana wasn't born yet) at North Beach with a sign she made from driftwood. Not sure why she took it or how I ended up with it but I figure it's around 1949.
These next two b/w photos were also taken during my childhood. I remember Santa Claus coming to the Uptown Theater and we got stockings with candy in it. Looks like ice cream bars were also handed out. These gatherings were sponsored by the Elks Club. The pictures of my aunts and uncles and cousins are mostly all outside photos taken at picnics and such. I did find three cousin photos. This first one is my cousin Linda and her mom with 4 of Linda's kids. She went on to have two more. Lillian loved buying for all her grandkids and relished her role as gramma.
This next one is of my cousin, Denny's kids, Sheldon, Andy, Janelle, and Tiffany. And Denny's mother, Lorraine, and his sister, Susie, are shown in their house on Franklin, probably around 1955.This photo shows my brother, Dana, and the dog he had then called Mickey. My first daughter had just been born on Nov. 30th, 1964 at St. John's Hospital and I was living at home on Kuhn until my husband returned from overseas. He was in the Navy.
This photo shows me at our house in N. Seattle in 1967. Our second daughter, Mary, had been born the previous June and my gift was a toaster oven.
This 1968 photo was at our Kirkland house. My sister, Janie, and her husband, Bill Forcier, had come over for dinner. Another year, Bill played Santa Claus and I sat on his lap. Poor guy.
These next three were at our Kirkland house when my kids were small.
