First Post for 2022

It's a little after 10 a.m. and I've been up for three hours. I've undecorated the apartment. Sort of. Everything is sitting on my bed waiting for me to bubble wrap and box it all up for another year. I decided to hook up my humidifier as the air is so dry with the windows staying shut all day and night.

It's just a small thing and probably meant for a small room but at least it's something.  I think I'm going to throw a couple hamhocks in a kettle and make some green pea soup.  Been meaning to do it for days but kept finding other things to cook instead.
I keep watching the neighbor's icicles outside my window. Interesting how much they've grown in a week. Wonder how long before they come crashing down,

I've got a jigsaw puzzle in the works and another strip quilt in process by the sewing machine. A friend told me she's bringing me a cordless iron once the weather clears as she had extras. I'm so excited. I've been wanting one of those.

Nothing much on my calendar this week. If the snow melts, I'll hit Safeway and I suppose everyone else will too.  The wind's blowing pretty good out there right now and the sky is blue. Hoping for rain soon.
I'm reading Joan River's book called Still Talking and finding it pretty interesting. And well written too.

If my dad was still alive, he'd be 99 on Monday.  Hard to believe sometimes that he's been gone almost 13 years.  My goal for this month is to sit down and take notes on genealogy tips on Youtube so I can get back into a hobby that I LOVE!  Amazing what I've learned so far.

Well, that's about all for now. I need to change the hummingbird feeder that freezes up at night. Decorated the shelf outside my door with some Happy Meal toys I've been saving.  Neighbors probably think I'm a bit of a dingaling --- and they wouldn't be that far off!
