I didn't have to go anywhere today so I wasn't too concerned. There wasn't a lot to contend with anyhow. I spent most of the day working on ancestry.com fixing up my notes on relatives I'd already researched but thought I might find some added information. And I did. I'll write about those on my mule blog. haha
Life Below Zero is on tv now. It's one of the shows I can have running even if it's reruns as I find it relaxing. Some of the people on it annoy the hell out of me so I badmouth them as the show moves along. Others I find very amusing. I had golf on for a couple hours and classic country music for most of the morning. It's 4 pm and I'm in my slump period. I could head to my recliner and take a nap very easily. And I might just have to.
I worked on my jigsaw puzzle for maybe half an hour. Only found a few pieces but I'm in no hurry. Tomorrow a friend is dropping in to give me a couple more puzzles. I've been putting my wig on anytime I leave the apt as my regular hair continues to make me look old, ugly, and haggard. With the wig, I'm transformed into a real knockout of a dame. Yeah, it's my dream world.
I had my free dinners delivered at 11 today. Olycap outfit here in the county. I love it. No restrictions on income (although I'm sure I'd qualify even if there was). I got a half gallon of milk, 3 cans of pears, a plastic bag of little break slices, and 7 frozen dinners.
Love having the little frozen dinners just waiting for me to cook in the microwave should I have no desire to fix supper. Which happens often. This week I got baked fish, meatloaf, spaghetti and meatballs, salisbury steak, braised beef tips, chicken pot pie, and swedish meatballs.
I had to take my external hard drive to the computer store yesterday and hope they can retrieve my data once it's opened up. Going to cost me $60 whether they're successful or not. Now I have to buy another external box. It was on my to-do list to take everything off that old box and transfer but I waited too long.
I went to the hospital yesterday to get an ankle brachial test to see how my pulses were. He said they were good and strong and that I was in pretty good shape for a woman of 78. Made my day even if he was just being nice. Ha!
My evening routine lately has been to eat supper while I work a crossword puzzle. Wash dishes (unless I dirtied very few and then I'll wait until morning), play some solitaire online, play Wordle online, surf Facebook and then head to my recliner to watch Youtube videos and whatever I can find of interest on the channels I stream. I've been hooked on The Crown for a while now. I've seen all the seasons before but it was a while back so everything is like new. I turn on the subtitles so I can understand every word they say. I love how they pronounce all their words so perfectly. Some times I see the word and end up saying out loud "oh, is that how you pronounce that."
If I think I can read without dropping off, I'll turn off the tv and pick up whatever book I'm into. I don't usually get too far before I realize I'd better hit the sack. My nighttime routine includes getting water to sit by my bed, heating up the rice pack in the microwave for my feet (helps me go to sleep) and after brushing my teeth I hop into bed and lay there thinking about what I accomplished that day and what's on my line up for tomorrow. Is that interesting or what?
I did come across my pictures that I had put in Google Photos (and forgot about) so that was really a walk down memory lane. Maybe I'll go grab a few and just throw them on here so this blog isn't that boring.
two hours later....
Well, this day changed quickly. My neighbor, Sue, called asking me to take her to the Express Clinic because she was bleeding heavily again. Just irritates me that when she told her doctor about it last week, she just put her off until next week. When Sue called her again today, she told her that she'd see her next Monday. Then Sue got worse and knew she had to go in. I took her to the Express Clinic but then they decided they couldn't help her so sent her to the ER. The ER wouldn't let me wait (even in the waiting room) so I came home to get Sue's phone and take it back to her. Glad we only live a couple blocks away.
She just left me a message saying she's waiting to be told if they're going to give her a CT scan or whatever? Poor thing. I knew she was scared. I would be too and what makes me even madder, is that
few of the staff seem to have any empathy.
Did pull out a few pictures before she called so I'll go find them now and attach here....
