This old picture hung in my grandpa's house on Kuhn Street when I was growing up. It was in the kitchen and I remember looking at it often. Somebody (maybe an aunt?) told me that my Uncle George Blankenship had given it to his mother (Viola Mae) for Christmas or maybe a birthday? Somehow or another after I was married, the picture was given to me by my dad or perhaps my step mom, Marcella.
I eventually decided to gift it to my cousin, Susie Johnson, daughter of Uncle George, along with the family Bible that our grandmother owned. Kind of sorry I did that now but oh well.
I thought she might like to have something her father had given his mom. Eventually, I discovered Sue gave it to her brother, Arlie. I got to thinking about that picture when I was watching youtube videos on genealogy and found that Google had this photo program where you could research old photos. They could tell you facts about it if you were lucky.
Arlie emailed me the picture this morning and while I still want to research it, I did find it on ebay.
It was selling for $198 and was listed as a 1908 Atkins Fox Lithograph. Too cool!
