I went to Safeway early (8 a.m.) as I prefer beating the crowds. In and out is how I like to shop. I only had half a dozen items on my list. I passed on the walnuts as they were $10 and that didn't sit well with me. I searched and searched for All Bran cereal. None. All they had was General Mills bran something or another for $7. That didn't sit well with me either. I only wanted to make some muffins.
Off to QFC, a store I do not care for because they don't have check yourself out aisles and they never have enough checkers. I ALWAYS see a long line of people standing in often one aisle open only. Today was no exception. One checker, a dozen customers and she calls for one more checker. I walked and walked looking for the cereal aisle. Finally discovered that the only cereal they had was on a front shelf by the checkout aisles. And the brands were few to pick from Say what? Could I have possibly missed the cereal aisle altogether? At any rate, since All Bran was all I wanted and had it been there, I'd been standing in a long line, I decided the hell with QFC! Again. Not the first time I've gone in there and turned around to walk out again. And you'd think going early would make a difference. But no.
I wonder if breakfast cereals are one of those things that are going to be hard to find. It's a changing world. I'm having to keep the news off pretty much all the time now. My well being can't take all that sadness in Ukraine and all the crime in this country. Just let me hole up in here with jigsaw puzzles, golf, music stations, and my sewing and genealogy. That'll do me.
And now I guess I'll sit here at the computer and work the crossword, do Wordle, read the two papers (both of which are generally pretty lame), and post on my mule blog.
