It's 8 a.m. and I've been up for an hour. So far, I've curled my hair (what there is of it), made my bed, cleaned up my jewelry box, straighted up the clothes closet, washed last nights dishes, watered a plant, and now I'm sitting here with a yogurt, piece of toast, half a banana, and a cup of coffee. Slept so much better than the night before. My hips still hurt to high heaven when I got up but thankfully, once I get moving, the pain subsides enough to get on with my life.
Some mornings are better than others for me. Yesterday was an icky morning. I hurt all over but then you already know that as I take it upon myself to share all my woes. Ha!
My granddaughter, Catie, spent 40 minutes on the phone with me last night and she was able to help me get my book submitted. She set up this program on my laptop where she can remotely take over the controls and we can both see what she or I is doing. I've had to use it several times as I get so frustrated when I can't figure out how to proceed on something I'm working on. This time it was the pdf settings that the book publisher wanted. I just plain didn't understand the lingo. She didn't either but she was braver about guessing and proceeding on.
At any rate, they told me I was successful and I was able to order a book. It won't arrive for 2 or 3 weeks but once it's here, I can look it over and see if it's good enough to sell. I'm not entirely sure I trust the post office anymore so I may use UPS or FedX to mail off the books that were ordered by out of towners. I've got 40 orders so far and intend to give about 7 to family members so I think I'm going to order 60 books. I think I can probably sell 12 or 13 easily enough. There's around 7 local folks that I can have come pick it up but depending on what I'm charged for postage, I'll have to tack that on to the price ($10) for all the out of towners. Used to be you could mail a book for $2.50 or thereabouts but I'm suspecting the price now is probably going to be over $6.
Forgot to enlarge my font again. Sigh.... Took me two paragraphs to realize it. Nothing pressing on my agenda today now that the book is done. I intend to spend the next few days sewing, reading, working the jigsaw puzzle, and painting some rocks. Now that I think about it, though, I do have one job that I need to get going on. Computer cleanup. I completely screwed up my documents file by trying to tidy it up. Now I have so many subfiles I can't find a thing and it's driving me nuts! I've got to quit doing that.
I've been laying in bed thinking about how to proceed with this. I have three jump drives and two exterior hard drives. One of the exterior drives is new (given to me by Mary) and she said I can get a ton of stuff on it.So that's the plan. Little by little, I intend to transfer stuff off my laptop and on to the new drive. Then I'll delete what was on the laptop. Going to make me nervous doing this but it's my own fault I got myself into this jam.
I sent my youngest daughter $50 today as she's going to be 50 this Friday. Still can't believe my baby is 50 but then I find it difficult to stomach that should I make it until the fall, I'll be 80! Seems like I was just 40 not that long ago.
Well, I can't think of much else right now so I'm off to do the crossword and wordle. Think I'll head to my rocks after that and see what kind of mess I can make. Heres a video about a place in Chimacum. I have yet to stop there but I think I might.
