Decided to clean out a junk drawer today. Was surprised at just how messy it had become. I ended up putting a ton of stuff in other spots -- where they belonged. Messed around with my lap top speakers because they weren't working right. Finally unplugged them and put them in the closet so my daughter can look them over when she comes by on Tuesday. I still have sound coming from my laptop but I like having a little louder noise so I'm hoping they can be revived. They are terribly old and then too, my laptop USB ports are getting old as well.
I did the crossword and wordle but gave up on the crossword as I just wasn't able to get the answers without a lot of help. My routine has been to try and do the puzzles with no help (meaning the letters turn up red if I've made a mistake) and once I can't complete the puzzle, I'll turn on the help button. Today, though, I was still having problems so I decided the heck with it and went on to do my wordle puzzle. I got it in three tries which surprised me. I've gotten it in two a couple times but my usual is four or five tries.
I have golf on right now. Had it on all day yesterday too. Tiger is playing and the commentators are giving him entirely too much attention. Especially since he's not even in the top ten. I'm not a fond of Tiger anyhow. He's in 35th place right now.
I binge watched 'White Lotus' on HBO last night. Finished off the final second season. So good. Love Jennifer Coolidge. She got an Emmy for this role.
I started watching 'Nobody' with Bob Odenkirk who starred in Better Call Saul. It was a tad too violent for my tastes so I left it behind. I do enjoy Bob though. Saul was a terrific series.
I've got a jigsaw puzzle set up and it's about 2/3 done. Got few pieces yesterday and that was annoying. I'll try again today but I also want to get into the sewing machine projects I've got on standby.
Tomorrow Barb Shaw is picking me up to take me to a doctor appt in Silverdale. I'll find out if back surgery will help my ongoing pain issue or not.
I made enchiladas yesterday so I'll have that for supper again today. Tried something new and just used refried beans, cheese, and onion in the tortilla. Also added a few pieces of chicken. It was rather good and much easier to put together than my usual system.
My hair loss (alopecia) is sure giving me grief these days. I seem to be getting balder all the time. Thank God I have wigs on hand. I've taken to keeping a wig on the table near the door and if anyone knocks or if I decide to go out, I put the wig on. Don't need to be scaring the neighbors by letting them see just how ugly a woman can be without hair. If I take the time to curl my hair with a hot iron, it looks somewhat better but even combing it forward doesn't really do the trick anymore. I'm learning to live with it. More upset about my back pain and how it bothers my mobility than I am the loss of hair. Seems like I recall a couple of aunts who also had thinning hair in their later years.
Here are some photos that Kris Logue took at my book party on Friday.

Once a month I get this delivery of free canned goods and other food. One of the cans was this one of diced potatoes. Never seen it in stores before and was reluctant to open it. I finally decided, though, to try them out. I drained out the water and fried them up in the air fryer for hash browns. Pretty good too.
My sister keeps changing the date of her move across the hall. Now it's up to March 5th. She said her daughter has been coming down to help her pack so hopefully, the move will go quickly and smoothly. My nephew went to Portland to visit his son and spent the night with Mary and Andy in Vancouver. Eddie took his dog, Silva, and Poppy was apparently very happy to have company.
And that's it for me today. Guess I'll get busy on that puzzle.
