Trip to Silverdale

Barb Shaw picked me up at 11:30 this morning and we were off to Silverdale. Got lost but found our way again. I had put in the address on my phone but only planned to hit "go" once we were close to Silverdale so my phone battery wouldn't wear down. I was already at 70%. Something "dropped" and when I tried to start it again, gps sent us to a residential neighborhood. Thankfully, it wasn't too far from the medical clinic once we reprogrammed.

Took me an hour in the  clinic. Had some back x-rays and at first the assistant couldn't find the MRI results the PT hospital had supposedly sent electronically.  Doctor came in and talked to me for about 10 minutes. Said I definitely need to be fused as I've got two places in my back that are screwed up. I have to go to my local doctor and get an EKG, blood work and an okay that I can undergo surgery. Then it's back to the doctor to discuss the operation. Then it's back a third time to have the surgery at the hospital over there. Have to check in at 5:30 a.m. UGH!  I also have to get a Cat scan which he ordered. That will be done here. It takes a while to get in to my doctor and it takes a while to get a cat scan so I figure late March or April maybe I'll go under the knife.  He said I would be in the hospital for three days but didn't think I would need to go to a care center for rehab as he felt I was healthy enough to mend on my own.

Can't say that I'm thrilled at the prospect but my back continues to plague me so I know I have to take action if I ever want to improve.

Barb treated me to lunch at Shari's. Had fish and chips and it was soooo good. We hit Grocery Outlet although I only picked up three items. One being the coffee filters I needed. $1.79 vrs Safeway's $4.99.

Went to Goodwill. My first time and it was a fabulous store!  So much better than Port Townsend's store. I found three flannel sheets (two king size I think) that I can use as batting in my quilts. Thrilled to get those.

At the bridge, We had to sit 20 minutes on the way to Silverdale because of a navy ship but we were close to the front of the line so we were underway a little quicker than had we been at the end. Finally got home around 4:45.  Skies were sure dark all the way and saw a lot of downed trees from previous storms.

Have the news on now and watching the horrible storms in the east and the additional quakes in Turkey. I am so thankful I live here. All those poor folks.

Finished my jigsaw puzzle last night and will wait a few days to begin another. Think I'll work on sewing. Mary is coming too so I'm looking forward to that.
