My latest

Been about two weeks since I blogged. Didn't have that much to yak about but all of a sudden, I do! I'm moving! Yep! I can hardly believe it myself. My daughter, Mary, in Vancouver, offered me the apartment attached to their very large home and while I thought I might take her up on it someday, I was fairly happy with this low rent apartment and didn't think a move was on my agenda for a few years yet.

Things change, though. My friend, Mary, told me her husband wants to move their RV from her nephew's yard (two blocks from here) up to their granddaughter's place in Yelm. They'll still go to AZ for the winters, She's not happy with her husband's plan and is very not happy with my decision to move south. I've told her we'll just keep in touch via telephone and letters. As it is I don't actually have a lot of people here in PT that I hang out with all that much.  I will my hometown but then again, the town has changed so much and the last three years have shown me that. I can't even get to the beaches without a lot of trouble trying to navigate logs and such.

I planned to move in September but once I started downsizing, things moved along quickly. I was able to get rid of several things using the free tables in the laundry rooms. Always surprised me what people picked up. Jenni and Wayne carted off nine large black bags of clothes, material, and other things and this morning I dropped off my old (very heavy) computer. I still have my laptop of course.

My brother's granddaughter is taking my micowave as Mary has one in the apartment and Jenni and Wayne took my very heavy and large recliner. The two things I still would like to give away include my double bed w/frame and a small flat screen tv. If you know anyone who can use a bed, tell them about me. I'll be ready to give it away the second or third week of June.

Mary wants to wait until Jake is done with school before we make the move so I'm thinking the week of June 18th. Below is the pictures Mary sent me today of my new place. It has its own entry way, one large bedroom with walk-in closet, nice bathroom with walk-in shower, a washer, dryer, large fridge, living room and kitchen. We've had some discussions about both of us still needing our privacy so I think it's going to work out swell.

I'm hoping the doctor situation might be better than this town offers and Mary says she's close to Safeway, Walmart, Dollar Tree, and other places I like to go.  I'm ready to have a different view from my living quarters too!  I won't have a $72 internet bill because I'll be on their wifi and I can park right outside my apt. Parking in this place has become very hit and miss. I'm also loving that I won't have to use the damn elevator everytime I want to go outside.

I've been like a woman on fire as far as my packing goes. I want to make it as easy as possible for all those coming to load up the Uhaul trailer and two or three cars. Mary seems to think the one trailer will be all that is necessary but I can never judge those things.

I'm also excited that I'm going to get to know my grandson better and I'm thrilled that I'l have a dog too. Ha Ha

My cousin, Linda, is coming to town for Rhody in a couple of weeks and coming back again in June for her 60th high school reunion. It will be the first for her and will probably be the last one for me as I'm not real keen on driving freeways and haven't been for decades.

And I guess that's it for me today. I'll attach pictures I took at Penny Baldridge's celebration of life. Didn't take enough, as usual.
