I had a few days of being under the weather. It was dreadful. Stomach flu I guess but at the time I thought I was probably dying. Yeah. Always the drama queen. Anyhow, I took a hard nap yesterday and when I woke up, the bug was mysteriously gone. I was beyond happy.
Last night we shot off firecrackers with the neighbors. The whole neighborhood was loud with extreme fireworks and I lost interest after an hour of listening to the noise. Have decided that the 4th of July is not my favorite holiday.
Today Mary has a doctor appt and when she gets back, she'll ride with me as I practice driving to Safeway and all the little shops alongside it. I also want to locate the closest Walgreens. Otherwise not much on my agenda. At some point this month we'll go twin bed shopping so I can have more room in my bedroom. I still have many boxes to empty out but need more room. They'll put the queen bed in their storage unit. I've wanted a twin bed for years so I'm super excited about getting one. I also need to invest in another recliner. Mine is wearing out although if I have room,I may put the old one in my bedroom once the twin bed is in place. We'll see.
I fix my own breakfast and lunch (usually something very light) and then Mary invites me to partake of her wonderful dinners. And they are wonderful! Sometimes I bring my plate into my apt to eat and sometimes I sit at their table so Poppy can stare me down hoping I'll share.
It's suppose to get up into the high 90s today so I'll be staying in to take advantage of the a/c. I have two tables in the living room/kitchen. My regular table for eating, computer, crafts, sewing, etc. and another smaller table that I use closer to the kitchen. It holds my hot plate, air fryer, and electric skillet. My toaster and coffee pot remain on the kitchen counter. I ended up using a couple shelves of my bookcase to hold dishes and small appliances. This apt is smaller than my Disco View one but I can make everything work just fine. I pretty much stay holed up in here and Mary and Andy pretty much stay in their house.
Friday I have my first doctor appt with a nurse practicioner and sometime in August I'll see a hematologist about my low blood platelet issues. I love that I have all the tv channels that Mary gets. Amazon, Hulu, Disney, Netflix and more. I quit my Amazon account but can use Mary's for when I want to order something. My echo devicer also works using Mary's Amazon account. Handy Dandy.
My living room/kitchen has two windows. They only look out on two houses but in the background are several tall trees so I can watch when the wind comes up. I also have a cute little yard area outside my door with pretty flowers and a lawn chair. I set my umbrella nearby so if opt to sit out there and it's too hot, I'll have some shade.
Jake is busy at camp this week so he's gone all day. I have to keep Poppy out sometimes as she loves to go after my large teddy bear and my bathroom garbage. I'm still thinking of getting myself a dog but haven't made up my mind yet. Have to wait and see how I feel. Maddie and Ants just bought a new weiner dog.
