Just messing around with one thing or another today. Went down to Safeway to renew a prescription and while they did renew it, they told me it was now "not renewable." I remember specifically telling my doctor up there that I needed her to fix the pilll bottle so I could renew. I wish people would pay attention. Now I have to write her again and ask what the deal is. Doctors just irritate the hell out of me!
I was listening to an audio tape while working on a jigsaw. I seemed to be in the habit of starting a puzzle and then getting bored with it and putting it away. Then I'd want to work on one again and I'd set up another. At least I have the border done on this one so we'll see if I can stick with it.
I try to drive carefully when I go out but I managed to get honked at today. I was turning into Safeway and didn't realize I wasn't in the right hand lane. I cut this guy off and he tooted at me. Mary says she gets honked at all the time and somehow that comforted me. I don't like it when people have to honk at me, though, because I am always trying to be good behind the wheel. I'll just have to try harder.
I'm continuing to move things around in here trying to find the best arrangement. This morning I put my table back in its original position so I can sit at the computer looking out the window. When I had myself sitting at the other end, the reflexion from the window made such a glare on the laptop that it was annoying. I almost moved this large office chair to my bedroom as it was in the way out here. Mary offered to put it in storage and I may decide to let her. I still have two dining room chairs in here too. One is in the bedroom and the other is at this table.
I keep tweeking where I put stuff. Moved my radio/cd player onto the table with my printer and moved a table by my recliner to the other side of the recliner. It holds books mostly. I'm pleased that I'm getting used to driving. Not completely yet but way better than when I first got here a month ago. I can get to Safeway, the dollar store, Walmart, Walgreens, the post office, the library and the senior center. Almost comfortable wtih finding Fred Meyer too. I figure that's plenty good enough for now. I don't really go out and about shopping anyhow. Hurts too much to be on my feet. I am so thankful for the electric carts that the big stores have. I've decided to always take my walker when I head to the library as it's much easier to browse and sit down and take my time.
I joined the mystery book club at the senior center(first meeting in August) and decided to go to the library and find some mystery books. I wasnt' all that pleased with what I brought home so I asked google what were some good mystery books. I wrote down ten that they suggested and went to the library site to reserve a couple. Lo and behold, that wasn't going to be a walk in the park. One of them had 26 people ahead of me. I then went to Catie's company (thriftbooks.com) and ordered two. They're cheaper at her place.
Mary is going to the pool with friends today but not until 4:30. She can't go in the pool, however, because of this sore on her lower leg that isn't healing. We thought it was a bug or spider bite but the doctor feels it was a wound from being hit. Like the corner of a dishwasher. That damn sore is so ugly and just won't heal up. She's been on antibiotics and they haven't helped. The doctor has wrapped it and now it's bleeding through the wrap. She has to go to the wound clinic next. Poor thing. Plus it hurts!
I've had such a difficult time getting in and out of my car while parked on the slanted driveway here that I finally decided this morning to park on the side of the house -- even if it means being on the street. Mary is going to text the guy across the street about why I'm parking across from his driveway. I hope he doesn't mind. I may have to use two walking sticks walking down the slant to get to my car but I think coming back up will be easy enough.
I went through a box that I hadn't really opened up much and decided to put up some pictures in my bedroom. Ended up with the house I grew up in and one of my grandpa. Another of Susie Bishop too.
Andy set up their pool for Jake yesterday. It sure looks like fun but I won't be getting in.
These are water balloons believe it or not. Mary bought them for Jake and his friends. You apparently fill them with a hose at the top.
