Been trying to find music stations and as usual, everything is slow going. I looked up stations on google and then tried to get my echo to play them but I must have done something wrong. Next I tried Iheart on my roku. After a few tries, I think I found what I was looking for. It's a process.
I signed up for three classes at the senior center. They're all on August. One is a mystery book club and the others are art and crafts. Going to look into cribbage and pinochle and I heard there's a newcomers club around here. Gonna check that out.
This morning I drove myself to the library. It was a ways off but my phone sent me right there and I was ever so pleased. Had taken my walker this time so I could browse and sit down when I needed to. Walked around looking the library over and it's really a nice place. I checked out three mystery books. Thought I would try to get a head start on the club meeting I'm going to Aug. 14th. The lady said I didn't have to but I decided I wanted to anyhow.
Mary and Andy are going to the fair on Aug. 9th so I'm really looking forward to that. Am I repeating myself? Probably. I do that a lot. When I got back in my car to come home from the library I was so pleased with myself for driving there. I got to the entrance to the library and turned my phone on the map apps to "home". She told me to go to 28th st. Which irritated the hell out of me because I wasn't positive if I was supposed to go left or right. I remembered I turned right into the libary so I made a calcuated guess that I needed to turn left. I think I was right but then I missed the next turn she told me to take. Next thing I knew I was traveling the wrong direction. Pulled into a place, turned around and hit home again. Took me a while to get the app to appear so while I was hitting on the phone, some impatient asshole honked at me to move. So I turned right and of course, that was wrong. The phone lady got me back on track (she always does) and this time I wasn't that far off. She got me down to 162nd (which is the street I know and it went straight to my neighborhood. She told me to turn right but I wanted to go to Walmart first so I turned left. I was happy that I knew where I was.
I pulled into a handicap parking spot and limped my way into the store and onto an electric cart. Just love those things! I zoomed here and there and ended up getting four items. Only two were on my list. Wanted to buy a thin curling brush/iron but the cheapest ones were taped up and I couldn't get the tape off to look at it so I decided the hell with it. Why they have to deny you looking at what you want to buy is beyond me. Shoplifters I suppose. Damn shoplifters! So I saved myself $15. Decided I would make the one I have work good enough.
I got back in the car and headed home. It's straight down one road so I was comfortable. Got close to Burgerville and I really really wanted one of their chocolate shakes but I talked myself out of it and drove on.Am sitting here with a glass of water now and it's very boring. Burgerville has super good milk shakes and it's unfortunate that they're fairly close to Mary's house as the temptation is difficult. haha
Yesterday I cut up paper for about 3 dozen postcards and glued various Port Townsend pictures on them. Today I will start addressing and stamping. Tomorrow I have a doctor appt but Mary will drive me. Nothing more after that until we go to the fair; then the next day is my crafts class at the senior center.
Started watching the Sopranos on my dvd player last night. Hard to believe that show first came out in 1999.
Darn it anyway! I started this blog probably an hour back. I wanted to add this picture I cam across yesterday of my dad an uncle up on the roof. Do you think I could find it today. Nope! I'm really going to have to take the time AGAIN and try and get all my pictures in order. Drives me nuts when I can't find one.
The adventure continues.
