Thursday afternoon

Went to a crafts class at the senior center this morning. Below is what we made.

Two are picture frames and two are coasters. Mary tells me this is the kind of stuff they have preschoolers doing. I told her yeah, I know but it's my way to try and meet some ladies. Next monday I'll go to this mystery book club but if I find it boring, it will be my one and only attendance. AT the end of the month, I'm signed up for a paint class. The lady in the class this monring told me that Battleground has a pretty good senior center with lots of activities so I may look into them later on. Mary said I can get there going on backroads and that's kind of what I'm aiming for.

Next week I might try to find a furniture store nearby and see if I can find a recliner. Hopefully, they'll deliver if I find one to my liking. Tomorrow Holly Blankenship is taking me to get some flat river rocks that I can paint. Looking forward to that as she's really a fun  person.

Mary and Andy leave for a week this Saturday so Poppy and I will hold down the fort. I'll be picking up the mail, watering, setting out the trash, and feeding the dog. Some neighborhood boys will be walking her.

We took in the Clark County Fair yesterday. I was surprised at how many wheelchairs they provided for older folks. I felt sorry for Mary and Andy when they had to push me over the uneven ground. The fair is bigger than Port Angeles but smaller than Puyallup. It was okay but nothing special. The demolition derby was kind of lame. I guess they put on a better show at the nighttime one. Jake got lots of things=-- a soap, two stuffed animals, a gold chain and cross. Surprisingly, he wasn't real keen on going on rides. Never did do even one. The prices to eat were steep but then I guess most fairs are that way.

Below are the pictures I took.

Andy and Jake shooting a bow and arrow

A black and white cow that I thought was pretty
A camel. Felt sorry for him being in a cage
A big truck that took kids for bumpy rides around the arena before the derby

                                                       one of two ferries wheels
Mary and Andy talking with friends they ran into
A gray cow I also thought was pretty. I wanted to see pigs but I guess they didn't have any
Jake in tunnel with flashing blue dots
This was a beaded display that you could push your hand on. Mary went on the other side and gave me the finger.
Mary in the food court area

l always like to have my face drawn at the fair. And this is what he came up with.

It was a reminder to me of how old I'm getting. I think I look a bit like my sister here.

Here's two from previous years.

Well, that's about all for today.  I sure am glad I have Mary here to help me with my electronics.Seems like I've had one problem or question after another in regards to the tv set, my phone, and the computer. Just amazes me how knowledgeable she is.
