My birthday is over for another year

It's been 2-1/2 weeks since I sat down to blog. Not sure why I've been so lax; partly I think because most of my days mirror each other and I didn't want to bore you. I had a nice 80th birthday. Still find it hard to believe that I've reached this age. I told Mary that I will probably die in this decade although she thinks I'll hit the 90s. Not hardly! Here are two pics I posted on FB. Actually, I've probably posted most of these on  FB but I know not everyone goes there. I really like these two... me at 70 and me at 80!

I've got quite a few pictures to share so these may be all over the place. First of all is a shot of Mary's car that has since been towed away. It caught on fire in her driveway and the insurance company deemed it totaled. Her and Andy are now car shopping.

Hunter and his girl friend, Taylor, stopped in yesterday with four of their friends. They were on the way to see Jason Aldean in concert.

                                                           At the concert in Ridgefield.

A few days back, Hunter texted me a picture of all the Coke memobilia I had given him. He had it displayed in his new house and I thought that was really sweet.

I had been wanting to see what Battleground looked like so Mary took me and Jenni for a ride in the country to go see it. Jenni took this picture of the senior center there. It was a small town (about 21,000).

Mary decorated the house for my 80th birthday. We had barbequed hamburgers, beans, potato salad, corn on the cob, and cake. So good.

Sam Johnson and Barbara Shaw drove all the way down to visit me a few days ago and we went to lunch at the Stardust Diner.

We went to dinner on my birthday to a place on the Vancouver waterfront called Beaches. I had fish and chips. They made a fuss over my birthday and brought me a cookie and ice cream concoction with a candle on it. Also a lei and a card signed by a lot of the staff. Pictured here is Jake and me on a large chair in front of the restaurant and the rest of us at dinner.

This last photo is one I saw on Facebook and thought was interesting.

Catie and Louie drove down for the day yesterday. Always good to see them. Tomorrow I'm having Mary take me to Urgent Care just to make sure I don't have a UTI. I haven't felt real good the last few days. Also going to UPS to return a couple of Amazon things. Nothing much else on my agenda this week. Might start doing some acyrlic painting.

I've gotten into reading books by Joyce Carol Oates and am really enjoying her. Jenni and Catie both gave me a ton of postcards for my birthday. Jenni also gave me 80 stamps! I'll be busy sending them out to everyone through the month of October.

Today I may just sit around and watch a little golf and/or football. Have got to get going on thank you notes too! And that's it for my September.
